A good friend of mine sent me a link with the trailer on youtube... this was perhaps, a year before 9 actually came out, but after watching the short as well, I was fascinated. For a short while, I was obsessed with it, but after a month or two, the obsession died out... BUUUUT a month before 9 came out, the obsession came back. And it's still goin' strong.

OMG! It's been a full year since I've known about 9 (I oficially found out about it on 1/2/09 on a car ride back home, I wikied Burton & then I saw 9 on there & I clicked on it & I found all about it) (also random, I think I found out about it in a newspaper in '08, a couple days before '09, but I don't fully remember it T_T)

I found out about 9 in August 2009, when I went on a holiday to Paris. We were just wandering about one day, I kept on seeing these huge, amazing posters for 'Numero 9' on the side of buildings and down in the metro stations, and for the whole holiday I just hoped the movie would be out in england. When I got home, I had pretty much forgotten it. At the beginning of october, I went with my family to see the imiginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and as we were heading to the screen, I saw a smaller, familiar sight out of the corner of my eye. Sure enough, it was a poster for 9. I pretty much freaked, and then freaked again when they played the trailer. I think I cried.

When I went to see Inglourious Basterds with my brother, the bag of popcorn advertised it. As a result I went to the movie's website and conviced my brother to take me to see it.

I honestly can't remember how I found out about it. All I remember is seeing the trailer on YouTube, then watching another trailer on YouTube, then looking up clips from the movie...and then it all went on from there. ^^ But I also remember hearing about it before I saw the trailer on YouTube...but I can not remember how I heard of it or who I heard it from. Haha, horrible memory of mine.

I saw it on the preview for Coraline way back in February. Saw the concept, saw the animation and kind made this ='D face. They're both my joint favourite movie of '09.

A few years ago, I stumbled upon the short film through the glorious site you guys call YouTube. =D I was ecstatic when I found out that they were making a movie out of it and practically had a spaz attack in Coraline. But... I didn't find out about this forum until after it had came out. (Boy, what was I missing!)

I, being a huge LOTR fan, see every movie that every LOTR actor is in. The Sad thing is, I found out about "9" way back in march, and I didn't find this site until September. But I was looking up something about Elijah Wood, and we found "9" So I found out about it, and then I watched the trailer on youtube. I wasn't hugly obssessed, but I was very excited.
Needless to say, I wonder what would have happened if I had been on her when the website first started.

My discovery of 9 was largely by accident. I was drawing sack dolls of a different sort and a friend of mine caught me doing so. this was probably June/July-ish. Watching me draw, she looked up and asked me if I had heard of a new animated feature being produced by Tim Burton titled "9." I answered "no," and she immediately booted up her laptop and showed me a trailer.
I was intrigued.
I went out of my way to find the short, and though my interest remained as more information and trailers came out, I didn't want to be spoiled, so I did not seek out any websites or art on dA. 9/9/09 rolled around and, despite the fact that I threw out my back early that morning getting ready to go for the movie, I still went and saw it. I loved it. I joined the forum.
I saw it again after my back had recovered, and discovered myself to be a rampant fan of 5. The rest, as they say, is history.

I first heard of 9 when I saw the trailer on TV. :'D That's when I thought 7 was a boy and that made it all the cooler for me. I remember thinking "HOLY SNAP THIS IS GONNA BE EPIC DB" sitting there on the couch. |D

I saw the teaser when I first saw Coraline- But not in the theater, I had to rent it. Silly me. Anyway, I remember saying "That looks REALLY cool" out loud as soon as the trailer ended, and then the next day I watched Coraline again, before we had to take it back... Admittably, though, it was mostly an excuse to watch the trailer for 9 again. That same day I looked up the trailer on YouTube, watched it several times, found out the name of the music, bought it immediately, drew 9 from memory at school the next day, and then conviced my mom that I NEEDED to go on opening day. She agreed.
I spent the next 4 months trying to suppress/hide how much I loved it, because I felt I HAD to keep drawing Pokemon fanart, and couldn't let myself slip into another obsession, and then when the new year rolled around I decided to just screw it and love what I wanted... In April, I finally choked up the courage to join the central hub of the fandom itself, the 9 Forum. And I love it here.

Stumbled across it when browsing TV Tropes, in my case.

Saw the trailer when watching Coraline at the theater around February. It defiantly caught my interest and they've shown the all the trailers the second time around! So I've got the pleasure of seeing it again.

My brother showed me the trailer back in May of '09 and I actually forgot about it until I did a movie review of it in September for our school's newspaper. When I first saw the trailer then, I thought the movie was going to be a Hot Topic fad since it had Tim Burton's name smacked on it.
Because, you know, Hot Topic has sort of a "soft spot" for anything related to Tim Burton.
And so it wasn't until 4 months later that I've decided to contribute for our school newspaper with a little movie review, but 9 wasn't originally my choice. The other movie I wanted to review was one I saw in August, (anyone who wants to know, it was District 9. A great and terrific movie, by the way.) but since it wasn't playing at the nearest theater anymore, I was out of ideas. So, the head our school newspaper said "How about 9? I heard it was good." and then I was all like "Well, okay. I'll give it a shot." Luckily, nothing was spoiled for me since I never saw the other trailers or the exclusive clips before the movie was released. My strange obsession for the movie wasn't starting up until after I saw the it and did some research on it to heighten up my review. Oh, and when I starting drawing the character 9 to go along with my review. I was also completely unaware that it was based on a short film. (Which I also love.)
