I'm a big fan of short movies. On a random YouTube search I found 9 and was hooked. I wanted to learn more, so I researched and then found out a feature film was in the works and the rest is history!

I had read about it a year or so ago on the Tim Burton Collective Forum. I thought it sounded intriguing, but didn't think much more about it. Fast forward a bit, and I go to Coraline in theaters and see the trailer for the first time. I'm instantly hooked, and I realize how truly amazing this movie is going to be!

I first saw it like everybody else, when I went to see Coraline. At first I was shocked because I never seen a animated movie like this and then the music and Tim's named showed....that when I got really exicted!!! XD
Then I forgot about it but then I wanted to look more info of this movie, when I learn about Shane, his short and this forum and I was like "Man, I never look at numbers the same way again". ^^

I first heard about it after spazzing out about Ponyo to my friend Netbug, who then proceeded to hand me a link of 9's trailer and casually ask me if I'd heard about it.
...she'd known about it for a year. >_>

So back in December, I was crazed about the whole "New Disney Sucks" thing and I was looking up videos on Youtube. On the side I saw a video called "A new movie by Tim Burton" so I clicked it. I didn't watch the whole trailer because I thought it looked weird (I NEED TO BE SLAPPED xD) Than this summer I went to see Transformers 2 (I think that was it) and me and Minion saw a poster for it and laughed because it reminded us of Fallout 3. I remembered what it was from seeing the beginning of the trailer from before. Than after seeing the Trailer in the theater for it I automatically Fell in love with it!

I REMEMBER HOW I SAW IT NOW. It was on the WALL-E forum I met Ghost, Triple, and Wendi, actually. There was a topic in the general discussion area titled '9(9-9-09)'. It piqued my curiosity ("9? What's this about?") so I checked it out. This was my initial reaction: Someone posted a link to this on Wall-E Forum, and I figured I should pass it to meh fellow Fanbasers! Exclusive new clip from 9!This film is gonna be awesome, I can just tell. This scene, however short, was spine-tingling. It'll be ten times as good on the big screen. ...is it too early to think 7/9 is gonna be epic cuteness? So yep, love at first sight ;D

Frankly speaking, I don't remember, how. Possibly, it was the short film. Maybe it was the trailer of the short and than the short itself. Maybe, it was a short announcement at www.timburtoncollective.com?But here's the way I've found this site. I've watched Under Attack clip on Kino-govno and then went to check the movie info on indb. And voila! I'm here since that day .

Back around April, my mom was doing some scrap booking and had the tv on with a show about up-coming 2009 movies. I was in my room reading, and then suddenly I hear: "Jacquelyn!!!! Get out here!! Quick!!!!" Unfortunantly I tripped over a blanket and when I got there, they where playing the trailer for 9. I lost the first 10 seconds of it and it was just wraping up the slow part. I ask... Me:...What's this? Those things look weird... Mom: New Tim Burton movie. Me: Are you sure? It looks a little... Then the Welcome Home music starts blasting with all the action scenes. And when It was over my mouth was hanging open. Me: ....Epic. That didnt hook me though. I just kind of "Yeah, whatever'd" it. Two weeks later my friend sends me a text saying "SQUEEE! New Tim Burton movie!!! Wanna go watch it together when it comes out?" I said yes even though I really didnt care. THEN came time for Comic con. I was SO upset that I had missed the Alice in Wonderland panel, and diddnt get to see Tim. But then my cousin pulled out the scedual an said that they where having a session in hall H with him. So we had to get there EARLY in order to have a decent spot in line for Hall H. It was crazy, but thankfully we got good seats. And we sat through a crap load of other sessions before it got to the Tim Burton one. (While we where in line I found out it was for 9 so I was twice as excited because Elijah was there too.) Anyway so the host walks up to the mic and says "So how many of you seen the 9 trailer? Well now you get to see the new extended trailer ON THIS GIANT SCREEN AND GIANT AMPLIFYERS BLASTING THAT AWSOME ROCK MUSIC!!! This movie is going to be KICK A#$%!!!!!" So they dimmed the lights, and I was chilled to the bone. Over exposure to pure awsomeness!!! Then they showed the cat beast clip, and I was so into it, I forgot where I was and almost cryed. 1: because it was sad. 2: Because ....I have this weird fear of dolls, belive it or not. (spoilers) And when I saw 2's soul get sucked out, it was heart wrenching, and that one second of footage you see his body all steaming and just the look on his face, freaked me out royaly. (I had nightmares) But it was cool cuz when we got out a bunch of people where standing outside whearing 9 shirts and handing out charecter cards to people. I had a retard moment and pointed to one guy..."Debby! His shirt logo is upside-down! Should we tell hi...oh...It's a six. '...they all have different...numbers...yeah......OK! I'M HOOKED! " Man that was LOOONG! But it's true. That's how I heard of 9. I will give a cake to anyone who takes the time to read all that.

I saw the trailer on... Harry Potter? I'm pretty sure that was it. Sad thing is, when I saw it, I immediately wanted to be watching it instead of Harry.
The second I got home, I jumped on the computer and looked it up.. XD
*was obsessed before she even knew anything about it*

This is how I got into 9.
I was looking up Tim Burton's bio on Wikipedia and I found some info on movies he's currently working on. And I came across 9. I was curious and looked it up, showing only ONE pic of evidence: Elijah Wood at ComicCon and an interviewer talking about it. I read what it was about and it only said it takes place in a destroyed world in which machines took over and ragdolls getting rid of them. Surprisingly, I wasn't interested in the synopsis, but when summer vacation started I was on YouTube looking for some vids to watch. There was nothing, so, I went to the upcoming movie trailers and I found the trailer. I was blown away by the trailer so much, that's how my addiction to this movie came though my head and was stuck in my head, right now.
Honestly, I think the reason to why this movie is soooo addicting is 'cause all of the other animated films I've seen were alright, I guess, but, just seeing the trailers and reading the synopsis and meeting the characters makes this a really, really powerful animated film like no other! And this ain't a children nor a family film, it's for young adults, really. And I like that. .........Oh Tim Burton, although your films are quite dark and emo, "Happiness lies trapped in mysery." -Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 song: "Dreams of an Absolution (Silver's theme)"
