i first heard of the movie 9 when i saw the trailer for it when i went to see coraline, as did a few others i know. after that, i went on IMDb and looked up the trailer and watched it again, and again, and again... well, you get the idea. i found out about the shortfilm a little later, and then looked for 9 fanart on deviantart, google images, etcetera. eventually i was doing my own fanart, and in one of the comments i received on a piece of work was the link to this site. and here i am!!! wow, if you actually read all of that, i thank you. how about you guys?

Well, I discovered "9" by accidentally stumbling upon the short on youtube some two years ago. Being a major animation geek, I thought it was really amazing; offering a dark, mature, edgy atmosphere that's unapparent in numerous 3D films and shorts. So out of curiousity, I decided to search up the artist(s) to see what other films he/she/they had done. I then discovered that the sole peerson behind the whole thing was Shane Acker, and that his short was actually going to be adapted into a full length film with Tim Burton helping as the producer! Being a fan of Tim Burton and a supporter of darker animated films, I was estatic upon hearing the news - but quickly forgot about the whole ordeal until I had come across a very small editorial in my December issue of Entertainment Weekly. It was a very small article that was written in the trailers section, which stated that it was a must-watch preview. So I ended up downloading an HD version of the trailer on Apple's site and was totally amazed. So then shortly after that, I used my imdb account to discuss my hype and theories of the film with other people, and from then on out, I ended up here!

Saw the trailer opening night of Coraline, was shocked and amazing from start to end of the trailer, lol Cal said that i looked like I was in a trance until it was done. Right after the movie i looked up what ever i could get from 9, and i found the trailer on youtube, then once i watched it for the 5th time i saw 'Shane Acker's 9' as a related video, i clicked it, watch it, then watched it again, and again, and again..and well ya you get the picture.

My brother showed it to me. I was hooked after 30 seconds of the trailer. Then when I was looking it up on IMDB I saw that there two separate pages for a 9 movie and both were about rag dolls living in a post apocalyptic world but there was a four year difference between the two so I looked up 9 2005 on Youtube, found the short geeked out about it, went back to IMDB and started a boatload of discussions and a fan club where one of the members suggested this place and there it is.
My brother almost wishes he never showed me the trailer because I won't shut up about it but now he's on this forum too.

A friend on deviantart gave me a link to the trailer and the short film. I have a peculiar fascination with the concept of living dolls, both noble and evil, so he figured I would be interested in 9.
Yarrr, he was right.

I discovered 9 when I was looking through Elijah Wood's filmography on IMDB. I saw 9 listed in it, and I was like..."what's that?" so I checked out the page, but didn't bother watching the short until a couple of months ago. I saw it...I was transfixed...then right afterward, I watched the trailer on Youtube, and from then on was absolutely hooked and dazzled by it all. I watch the trailer at /least/ once a day now. ^^

I've known about the release of the 9 movie for 2 years now. It started WAAAY back in 2007, I saw it on IMBD, the site said it was going to be released December 2008. Now they've pushed it back to 9-9-09 (which I don't mind, the date is pretty cool, but that means an even LONGER wait T__T).
