Well, if anyone has a funny, horrifying, epic, insert-adjective-here story of how they acquired their copy of 9, you wanna share it? I'm sure there are some good ones!
Okay, I'll go first. THe only place in my dinky birth-town that sells movies is the local Wal-Mart, which is an hour's walk away. Not so bad...But I step into the store, run for the "New Releases" display and...No 9. There's G-Force, Up, and District 9, but no regular 9. Okay, I think. There are three more places it could be! So I go down to the Home Entertainment section, look at the other New Releases Display...It's the same thing, except this time there's a bunch of Transformers DVDs.
And then again. All those movies, but no 9. Spirits dying, I trudge around the store, absently thinking that I needed to buy something else anyway...And wodnering why I can't find it. And then, hidden in the corner of the regular DVD racks, I find it! Hidden and tucked away! Well, needless to say, after walking all over the store with no luck, I about did a victory dance right there in the in the aisle! XD I do wonder why they had to hide it though...And no one else had taken a copy, mine was the first one to go!

I had a rough time finding the Special Edition, and it ended up never happening. XD FYE had the special edition listed, and they were the only ones (that I could find) who did. So, I took the drive over there to preorder it. When I got there, however, they told me that it was no longer in their computers, and that they probably weren't coming out with one. So, I dealt with it and got the regular DVD a few days early (which I think was an accident, honestly... I hope I didn't get anyone fired). However, the special edition apparently DOES exist, it's just not anywhere around where I live, and unavailable online... so, oh well. I have the regular one, and all is well. XD

I decided to just get the regular edition at Sam's since they sometimes have goodies bundled with their DVDs (not the case with 9 btw.) However when I got there, they only had the cardboard covers out and you had to take them to the register to get the actual dvd case. They had a bunch of new releases out so it was kind of odd that 9 was the one they thought people would steal. When I got to the register the cashier was interested and asked me if I had seen it and what I thought. I recommended it and rushed home to watch the special features like the 9 fan I am. ^_^ Overall, it was a good experience although I am curious where the special edition is sold.

My story;
I was sitting at home, doing computer crap or something, thinking about how gross my dad is because he is sneezing like a god damn volcano and debris is just flying everywhere and I'm just so grossed out. I mean, like, seriously dude. Don't get sick. It so gross. So, anyways, the phone rings and my dad tells me to pick it up, and I do so with great reluctance, knowing that it would probably just be another phone solicitor.
"Hello?" I ask, speaking into the receiver.
"Oh yes, hello," A young male (Maybe in his twenties) replies, a distracted tone in his voice, "Is this Erica?"
"Um, yes." I say, a stupid stare on my face as I tried to think who this could possibly be. My uncle? My cousin? My grandma? I just didn't have a clue.
"Well, this is F-Y-E," I thought it to be strange he said each letter separate, feeling embarrassment that I might have been saying it wrong this entire time, "You pre ordered the 9 DVD and we were just calling to inform you that we've gotten it in early- you can come and pick it up now, if you want." At this point in time, I am breathless, mind in a daze- the 9 DVD? Out already? I was not expecting that. I was expecting to come in and get it tomorrow- but a day early? That was... that was better then getting it the day of. With a nervous swallow, I gathered what little composure I had.
"Can I come pick it up tomorrow?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
"Of course," The man replied, and I could feel in his voice that he was smiling, "You can come pick it up whenever." I gave him thanks and hung up, placing the phone down in silence. I take a moment. The house is quite, except for the subtle sound of my breath.
"YES!" I bellow, jumping up into the air like a wile kangaroo on drug, "YES YES YES YES YESSSSS!" I continued to shout, jumping around and skipping about, overjoyed by this news. So long, I had been waiting for this DVD! The first thing I could think about was you guys, and how I couldn't wait to talk about my new DVD, then the deleted features, then the fact I was going to get the DVD! Tomorrow. I calmed down, and sulked over to my chair, flopping down with a long face. The only reason I said tomorrow was because I thought my parents were never going to take me, and I was cool with not getting what I wanted. Then the depression of not getting it the day before set in. I mean, it was the day before! When do you get an opportunity like that again? So after much begging, I managed to talk my mom into taking me (Bless her sweet soul). And at the mall, I managed to stay calm, although I was freaking out.
I was almost there- almost to the FYE store, of which my tireless waiting would finally be over. I would have it, the DVD of my most favorite movie! Oh, I wished I did not have to contain myself. But I did, and it greatly killed the mood. And just as I was about to walk out of the store, my mother bought me something- something I have always wanted. An Emerald ring- the stone of my birth. And it was a real emerald, not a lab created. I am wearing it right now. And it was really, really, really, really awesome.
At that point in time, I was really happy. Then I walked into FYE, took a deep breath, and with a gentle smile I walked up to the female clerk, which confused me for only a moment, as I had been expecting the same man.
"Hi," I said, bringing the dark haired womans attention to me, "My name is -NAME HERE PLEASE-, and I pre-ordered 9 here."
"I though that DVD didn't come out until tomorrow?" She said, a lazy stare tracing over my hat. I felt a pinch of worry, wondering if I had been duped, but then a second clerk chirped in from behind a counter.
"No, we got them in early- here you are! -NAME PLEASE-, right?" I nodded, relief washing over me. My mother paid for me (In another act of kindness) and I could have wept, I was so happy to be holding the 9 DVD in my hands. I wanted to go home and watch it right away! But my mother wanted to do some shopping first, so I let her, all the while clinging to the FYE bag that held my DVD safe. I could not stop thinking about how much I love my life.
As soon as I got home that night, I popped on the 9 DVD and watched every last bit of it. I went to be at 3 as a happy, happy fangirl. And you know that ring I was talking about earlier? It's a very close shade of green to the green 9. I hold it even closer now, as a memento of 9.
FANGIRLISM RULES.

... Koh has SE... I do not... info had better be forked over!
I had reserved the DVD a few weeks ago, even passed up the chance to take it home last week. But I decided to wait for the SE (... *grumbles*) So I went to work this morning, got picked up, and headed over to my FYE.
Apparently the reserve rate was so high, they ran out of reserves. So they had to grab a floor copy for me. But a copy is a copy. So I got it! AND IT WAS WORTH IT.

Well, we ordered it and it was SUPPOSED to come today, but it didn't... darn!
However, when it DOES come in - tomorrow hopefully - I WILL have a story! *smiles at my 6 key*

I thought that my DVD was going to come at 3 o'clock, but instead, it came at 12 O'CLOCK!! I ran to the mailbox (my God it's windy out here in Virginia) and got the box and ads and crap. I placed the bills on the table, went upstairs to my room, opened the box and I screamed happily. I hugged my mommy and I went to my friend's house and we watched it and commented on EVERYTHANG IN THE MOVIE.

Overall, it was a good experience although I am curious where the special edition is sold. They sell the special edition at Best Buy! That's where I got mine, and it was already on sale, and I got it with my employee discount. So it was only about $5. XD That's my story, lol.

Ok, so here's my story. Apparently to my current knowledge, I'm the ONLY person to get a Special Edition Copy. I went to the mall at 11 AM. I went into FYE and had my receipt that I used to reserve my 9 special edtion copy in hand. They told me they had one left in stock that they had saved for me. They were looking around the store for this copy for 10 minutes. Finally they figured out that the special edition was at another store, so they had to get someone from that store to send it over to where we were. I waited for 1-2 hours for the DVD. FINALLY, they got it in. Because they had caused such an inconvenience of not having it in when I had reserved it, they took 10 DOLLARS off the original price (instead of paying 25, I paid 15 dollars for my special edition ). I couldn't open it right away, had to leave for work. I got home after work, ready to open it. It's got a shiny slip cover, and the characters on the slip cover are 3D. I opened it, and to my shock... only one disc. Wait, what? Only one disc? Yes. And I checked the content on the disc, it's the EXACT same as the normal DVD. Either I was conned and they slipped a normal DVD into the shiny slip cover, or that's really what the special edition is: the only difference is the shiny 3D slip cover. XD I'm just happy that I got 10 dollars off of it. Tomorrow I'm buying a BluRay edition with my BestBuy giftcard LOL. Moral of the story, the special edition is not so special. XD; Attachments:

I woke up at 2:00 PM, hopped in the shower, called my mom and left her a message telling her to get me the 9 DVD (since she was out), got onto the computer, got a call from my mom telling me to ride my bike to the store to get it, choke on my cereal while getting dress and fall over from the boxes of crap in my room from moving (again), ride my bro's bike to the store and realize i don't bring enough money to buy 9 and Coraline (you save liek $4 if you buy then both together), ride home, grab my wad o' cash, ride back to the store, buy the DVDs, get the runs (cause I'm lactose intolerant and had cereal before i left) get stuck in the bathroom for 15 minutes, went back to the store and bought a jumbo sharpie, then rode home and watched the DVD. and now i'm writing my story.
