XD ...I get what happened! They probably thought you were talking about Nine. Friggin' confusing titles that sound exactly the same... when I'm talking about 9, I make sure whoever I'm talking to knows which movie I'm talking about.

Ok, so here's my story. Apparently to my current knowledge, I'm the ONLY person to get a Special Edition Copy. I went to the mall at 11 AM. I went into FYE and had my receipt that I used to reserve my 9 special edtion copy in hand. They told me they had one left in stock that they had saved for me. They were looking around the store for this copy for 10 minutes. Finally they figured out that the special edition was at another store, so they had to get someone from that store to send it over to where we were. I waited for 1-2 hours for the DVD. FINALLY, they got it in. Because they had caused such an inconvenience of not having it in when I had reserved it, they took 10 DOLLARS off the original price (instead of paying 25, I paid 15 dollars for my special edition ). I couldn't open it right away, had to leave for work. I got home after work, ready to open it. It's got a shiny slip cover, and the characters on the slip cover are 3D. I opened it, and to my shock... only one disc. Wait, what? Only one disc? Yes. And I checked the content on the disc, it's the EXACT same as the normal DVD. Either I was conned and they slipped a normal DVD into the shiny slip cover, or that's really what the special edition is: the only difference is the shiny 3D slip cover. XD I'm just happy that I got 10 dollars off of it. Tomorrow I'm buying a BluRay edition with my BestBuy giftcard LOL. Moral of the story, the special edition is not so special. XD; movie9.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=downloadattachmentpage&board=tm&thread=4820&post=96937i got that same one to... that's not a special edition tho (at least i don't think)... special editions usually have 2 or 3 discs inside and say "special edition" or something liek that on the cover but then again i could be wrong Yeah, Mine was all shiny, and the thing was all 3-D and stuff, but it wasn't special edition. Plus, special editions say....special.....edition.....on the cover. lawl

Eh. . . This is a tad embarassing. . .
My Dad asked my sister and I if we wanted to go to the mall on the 29th. We jumped up at the chance to go in that day, because we live a long way away from the nearest Wall-Mart and thought for sure that we wouldn't go anywhere untill after New Years. /D
Anyway, when we got to the mall, I bought the DVD and decided to get some pictures printed out from my camera's memory card while Dad and my sister went to get a pair of jeans brought back to Jeans Expert. Whistling "Welcome Home" on my way over to the picture printing machine, I placed the DVD next to me. After a few minutes I decided not to get any pictures printed after all and decided to meet up with Dad and my sister at Jeans Expert. . . without the DVD. . . /D
After standing in the store for a little while, I thought, "Hmm. . . I feel like i'm missing something. . . 9 DVD!" I dashed out of the store and ran back for Wal-Mart. I heard Dad call out from behind me, "What did you forget?" I replied with a silly "Nothing!" and returned to the picture machine. Surely big sister would kill me if I lost it! I saw that it wasn't there anymore and my stomach sank. Sulking back to Jeans Expert, I told Dad and my sister that I lost it and that I would pay for another copy. Dad was determined to find it though, and we went back to Wal-Mart. He asked a lady behind a service desk if she found anything on the picture printing machine. She walked over to her desk and said, "A DVD?" I nodded and she asked what it was called. I said "9" and she replied, "Well, it looks like a 6 to me, honey, because it's up-side down." She passed it to me and I thanked her. She told me not to thank her, and thank a customer who found it and brought it to her.
I still thank whoever that person was who found it. ^.^ But it's all okay now, and we've got our DVD.

Well, lets see. The only money I had was a $30 dollar gift card that I got for Wal-Mart for Christmas. I went online to see if they would have it and then I called my local Wal-Mart. I got put on hold, sent to electronics, got put on hold again, and then they came back, asked what movie it was I was looking for, and I got put on hold again. Then the lady comes back and is all 'If it's coming out, then we won't have it.' So, I got REALLY depressed but I wasn't ready to give up. The next day, my cousin and I go to walmart, I walk over to the new releases and my hope is slowly dieing as I scan it and don't see it. But wait! There it is then at the very end of the aisle!
Wewt! XD

Well, thanks to a particular incident with Gamestop several years ago, I've learned not to expect a whole lot from retail workers as far as knowing a lot about the stuff they sell.

While walking through the DVD section of Target, I managed to find 9 among the Recently Released DVD titles shelf.
However, being a cheapskate, I was really reluctant to buy 9 because, well, 19.99 to me is pretty pricey. Just then, a commercial for 9 showed up on tv and that took me by surprise.
To make a long story short
I BOUGHT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was as if the universe was compelling me to do so. *ugh so melodramatic*

It was a cold winter's night on December 28, 2009. I was going to the mall to buy a Naruto DVD at HMV, but there were none left... Since I still had some time to kill, I started putzing around the other stores to see what was there- it's a small mall. Eventually I got around to Safeway to check out some DVDs and gasped when I saw what was on display- a small pile of 9 DVDs. But these aren't supposed to be on sale until tomorrow! I thought. I frantically searched my wallet for some money, finding my mall gift card. But then I realized- they don't except mall gift cards at this store. If I wanted that movie, I'd have to run back to my truck to get the rest of my money. Wasting no time, I hurried back out into the cold, pacing myself so I wouldn't slip on the ice-encrusted parking lot. After gathering all of my five and ten dollar bills I fast-walked through the ice and snow, into the store, and up to the counter. You can guess what happened next. Later that night when I watched the movie with my mom, she revealed something to me that I had never thought of before: 8 totally looks like the Michelin Man. Yeeeaaaah... I was kinda bored.

Monday 12/28/09 11:30 PM After I watched Eureka, I excitedly looked at the time, time to get 9! We (my mom, sister, and I) get ready and go off to the closest (twenty-minutes away) 24-hour store, Meijer. I would have gone to Wal-Mart (less than five minutes away) but my mom told me they don’t sell the new releases until 6AM.I get there and go to where the new releases should be and it showed a display for 9 and other movies, but they had the ones from last week. So I find clerk 1 and ask her where it would be. She said to go to the front of the store to near checkout 9 (ha ha). I go, but I can’t find it. Therefore, I ask clerk 2. She doesn’t know what I’m talking about, so she finds an ad with the picture of 9 and asked if that’s what I wanted. I say yes, and she thinks I’m talking about Nine. She told me to wait while she called the backroom. I wait. Someone from the backroom comes and says they don’t have it, until clerk # 3 says that they should have it and (he knows what I’m talking about) tells them look again. I wait, but this time I stood near the exit where clerk # 3 was. Clerk # 3 left to help a customer. While he was gone, the phone by his post rang, I wanted to answer it. Luckily clerk #2 answers and unluckily tells me they don’t have it. I walk away and tell my mom. Its 12:45AM, we go home. My mom said I could call Wal-Mart, but that she wasn’t going to drive everywhere. I call, and thank goodness they had it and would sell it to me. 1:25AM, we return home and I’m tired. Despite that, I watch 9 anyway. And the next day, and the next day, and the day after that… and now!

I was staying a week for New Years at my grandma's place and went to the mall. So I walk into Hot Topic and ask if they had the dvd. No such luck. Which was a little disappointing because I had a gift card too ^^;. So the next best place was Wal-mat. I found it there and purchased a copy.

Lol these stories are so funny x3 Sadly...when my twin and I were all ready to get the 9 DVD at 12:01 in the night/morning it came out (all we had to was wait.......10 days) My twin said that they were going to get that 9 DVD even if they had to wait outside...bash the walmart semi truck open with their head to get it. We had everything ready....just a few days ago we had bought a big flat screen HDTV....if we were going to watch 9...we had to watch it in style. Then, we heard a knock at the door. He turned and opened it to see our two best friends, who are also twins, standing there, smiling. In their hands they held early Christmas presents. Of course, we invited them in and we all began to exchange presents and what not. Then they handed my twin and I something small and rectangular. They asked us to open it together and so we did and what do we find? A 9 DVD! We were like, "What guys? 9? How did you get this? It doesn't come out for like.....10 more days or something." They just smiled and said "open it" So we did and what do we find? A piece of paper with three bold letters on it: I.O.U We laughed and they told us that they had pre ordered it for us and that it would come on the 29th....the day it came out. We were happy because literally we would have had to scrap under the beds, the cushions of the couch, begged our Nana, and maybe had to go to the local school to steal some kids lunch money because we were so broke then from buying a big flat screen TV just for 9......*sigh* So....we began to count down the days...it seemed like a lifetime...and when the day finally came...........where are our friends? No where. They said they would be here with the 9 DVD when it came out. By this time, bashing the walmart truck open with our heads was sounding preeeeeetttyyy gooood. We live in Las Vegas where the pickings are good....there is a walmart, target, best buy, on every corner.....so while we were stuck in the house waiting for our friends to get their booties over here with the DVD...other non 9 fans were probably stumblings across the DVD on the shelves like "wtf is this? Whatev, I'm buying it" We didn't want to call them and be all rude like, "Man...guys? Where is our 9 DVD?" So we just....waited. Then...finally....a day AFTER it came out....they knocked on our door with big smiles like, "Hai guys...we got the DVD!" Like they hadn't a clue that it was a day late. They aren't big 9 fans...so we couldn't get mad at them. So we popped it in and watched it beginning to end and all the special features. teehee! ^^ And then the next day we watched it again with our Nana! Then after that we watched the commentary.... And then after that we walked into walmart the other day and guess what they had playing on all their flat screen TV displays? None other than 9. We lawled.

The middle of the afternoon on December 29th I beg my older sister (and get my mom to back me up) to drive me to get my 9 DVD. So she finally gets in the car to take me and we go to the closest store (Fred Meyer...yup, Fred Meyer) and I take my little 9 figurine with me.
So we walk into the store and go to the electronic store inside the main store where they sell movies and video games and musics and such. There's this whole shelf of only 9 DVDs right in the front of the store. I walk in and BAM! there it is. So I buy a copy, holding my 9 figurine like a little kid holding a teddy bear. I'm sure I probably freaked the clerk at the counter out... ;D
So I'm freaking out for the entire car ride home and then as soon as I get home I put the DVD into the computer (cuz my little brother was playing his stupid video game on the TV) and I immedaitely go to the deleted scenes...and I lol'd so hard at them. XD
That night my sister goes to stay the night at a friend's house. I tell her "You're gonna miss out!" and she replied "I don't wanna watch it tonight" and leaves. So my brother (who saw it in theaters with me and claimed he didn't like it), my mom, my dad, and I all sit down in the living room. I have a Pepsi in my hands and we start the movie. We're all practically silent while watching the movie...until it comes to 2's death scene. The first thing said since we started the movie came from my mom when the Talisman kills 2.
Mom: "Wow...that's disgusting, Taylor." I laughed so hard at her. So we watch the rest of the movie and at the end I ask my mom and dad who their favorite charcters are. Mom says 3&4 and Dad says 7...at which I kinda laughed. And then we watched the original short...which my mom commented on but I can't really remember what she said. ^^;
So...yeah. My mom said that she liked it but it would have been GREAT for her if none of the stitchpunks (or only, like, one) had died. Not five of them. I told her that all of them but 9 died in the short, so the movie is kinda a step up from that, but she stuck with her opinion. Not a very funny or thrilling DVD purchase story...but that's mine.
Oh and that Pepsi I mentioned that I had while we watched the movie......ya I didn't even open it cuz I was too excited that I actually owned 9 on DVD. XD

On the day it came out I was horribly upset because I was on vacation and couldn't get to Best Buy or anything.
Then tree days later my family and I were playing Uno at Roosters waiting for food. As soon as they green 9 hit the deck of cards my eyed and I said."9...9!" I grabbed my mothers arms [almost shaking her] and said. "Mom! We have to get the 9 movie!" mo just leaned her had back, "I'm tired can we get it tomorrow?" We had plain trouble before so ya, we were all tired. But 9 always seemed to brighten my day! After that I didn't light up. I leaned on her and kept saying please and told her a much of stuff that would never happen if I got the 9 movie. Finally in the car I asked again. "Mother please! I'll buy it my self. Please!" XD I loved the look she gave me when she finally pulled in at Best Buy and handed me the money. My sister's weren’t to happy either because I said they couldn't watch it. After walking around the store for 5 minutes I finally found it. Dud I cuddled that thing when I got back in the car. I looked it over and pulled off tall the price stickers as carefully as I could. Mom was happy that I was happy though. :3
I waited till every one was asleep that night to watch it. :3 But that's another story. ^w^

Mines sorta normal. I was at the mall with my parents and cousins so we could use our Christmas money. It was December 29th and I was pumped because I knew 9 was out! I first go to Hot Topic to my mom to see if they had any 9 figurines. They had none but I got a 9 shirt. anyways after my cousins find us we go to the video store. I go and yank 9 right off the self as if it's the Holy Grail and go to the counter my cousin got Glee. As we're paying I see my cousin got a free Glee poster I ask the clerk if they have any 9 posters, they didn't but he did give me a free Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Dark-side poster!
