Mine was pretty normal as well. I was browsing Amazon for 9 and found the Limited Blu-Ray edition. I pestered my parents until we ordered it. It didn't take a long while to arrive, and when I walked into the building I live, I saw the package there, on the table the mailman leaves the mail. It was a really shitty day, with some very annoying things happening before the art lesson but the arrival of the movie really made my day. And, oh the randomness, I didn't jump around, scream or anything. I just said "Nice" in German. Went to our apartment, got in, ran to my room and opened the package. It was the most beautiful thing after Völkerball. And over all, it had some sort of art book with it.(Art book tard here. ) I watched it in the evening and enjoyed every single bit of it. ;D

.... I just realized that I never posted my story last year! *facepalms*. Good thing I remember basically what happened. Okay, so the movie was a few days late coming, but I remember seeing an package from amazon.com in front of our door. I immediately flipped. "Guys, guys! I think it's the 9 DVD, I think it's the 9 DVD!". So we opened it, and it was, so I exclaimed "IT'S NIIIIIIIIINNNNNNEEEEE!" and just stared at the case before hugging it and squeeing. Then I looked at the cover and was like "Hey, 5 and 6 aren't really on here" (I got the Blu-Ray one), but I was still happy to finally get it!

Well, I never knew this existed. XD
Anyway, funny thing is that 9 happened to come out on the same day as my dad's birthday. And I didn't spend a single dollar of my Christmas money until that day came. After going into some other stores I wished to purchase from, including Hot Topic to get the 9 shirt, I rush to the FYE store to grab it. To my luck, it is right out in front and there are many copies there. I grab a copy for myself, and a second copy for a present I owed a good friend of mine who also liked the movie. I am literally bouncing in the line as I wait to make my purchase. Once I buy both copies, I squee loudly causing many people to stare at me oddly.
A few weeks later, I wear my 9 shirt to the first day back from school, and take the second copy with me. The instant my friend sees me, he is jealous of my shirt. I then tell him I also got the movie.
He tells me that he got the movie as well.
I proceed to akwardly stand there, realizing I bought an extra copy for nothing. I end up giving it to him anyway, and he kept it all the same.

I think I forgot to as well. And it's pretty interesting.
So weeks, maybe even a month or two , before the DVDs release, when my older sis was living in North Carolina, I first told her about 9 over skype. She said that she had heard about that movie and thought it was really cool. So I told her that when it came out, we would watch it together.
When she came back she was busy a lot of the time, but we finally managed to get to the darn movie store on December 31st. We were doing a lot at the same time, but we found it quickly and bought it. When we were at the counter, I could tell my sis was acting a little weird. She was acting enthusiastic, but it was like she was faking it.
Later we went to my grandparents' house and I said we should watch it before we went to the central countdown place in town. She seemed less than enthusiastic to do so, and I assumed it was because of the time, so I said it was short. And she went "oh, it's short? Yeah, okay!" more happily than she should have. That completely set off my radar. I asked her why her mood suddenly changed.
Apparently, the entire time that I had been telling her about 9, she thought it was the MUSICAL feature, NINE. I was completely shocked. And as I thought back, I realized all the hints she had said about it being the other one, like the fact that she thought George Clooney was in it.
Needless to say, she never ended up seeing it, which annoys me to no end.
