Alright. I found this out while talking to sis yesterday about the Stitchpunks awakening dates.
Now, this might get a little hard to follow, so I'll word it the best I can.
1-8 awoke on their birthdays (of this month) in 1949, or somewhere around there. However, according to the Blu-Ray Picture in Picture, it says 9 woke about 50 years afterward.
In the Scientist's journal (cause men don't have diarys XD) he writes about 9 on September 8th.
So, if this is exactly 50 years later, then what basically happened is. . . 9 awoke on September 9/9/08. And let's say that when he passed out, he was out for a day and he woke up to 5 on the 9th. That would mean that the all the events of the movie happened on 9/9/09.
Meaning. . . That the people who watched 9 on it's release dates, (lucky ducks >u>) were basically watching the movie live. As if it were happening, on that date, in a different dimension, or universe, and they were watching it!
*reads over* Um. . . Did that really make sense? ^^;

Your reasoning is sound, but I thought they were created in the 1930s...

Yes, I'm guessing at least 1939 (Over the Rainbow is our reasoning) . . . maybe, if that was the intent, Midge, it was more like 60 or 70 years.
And what's wrong with him waking on the 9th? The movie obviously takes place over the course of a few days, so him passing out on the 8th from his wound and waking on the 9th wouldn't make much of a difference, anyway. It's still "live", either way. XD

... That is a really badass conclusion my friend. I never thought of it that way. DUDE I SAW 9 LIVE IN AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE!!! I wonder if the crew planned it that way... hmmm interesting speculation.

...dude, that's too cool. Awesome reasoning there. |D
I was wondering where people got the 50 years thing- I'd seen it mentioned around- I guess I missed that on the Blu-Ray.

If that was the case then I SAW IT LIVE TOO! ;D ... Hey, you know, they say that there might be a bunch of other universes and dimensions that exist out there, so when you take that into account... 1. 9 could've actually happened in another universe 2. we could all be stitchpunks in another universe 3. If you take it from a dimensional standpoint, like how on that Science Channel thing I saw it said that dinosaurs are through are living rooms and such right now, they're just in another dimensional plane so we can't see them, then we could have stitchpunks roaming around our yards right now!

Pazam, good lord. XD Get a stress ball. Interesting fact: Many of the characters were born on Tuesday. Of course, that's probably because that's when they had time to update the site, but I'm a fantard, so lets say that in the Greek world, Tuesday (the day of the week of the Fall of Constantinople) is considered an unlucky day.

This would be so awesome~! X33 We could all be our OCs, or 7 could be be-heading a Cat Beast right now in the living room. XD Interesting fact: Many of the characters were born on Tuesday. Actually....
They were made in the 1930's, in addition, if they were made in the 40's, 9 still wouldn't be awakening in the 21st century, but very close to it. If he woke exactly 50 years afterwards, having been created in the 1930's, he would awake in the 80's. In the 40's, he would have awakened in the 90's.
But an interesting theory! I think it would make a lot more sense though if he awoke on the 9th.
