Wow, that sounds like one epic fic! And after I get some more examples and officially make Go Back To The Source a trope, I thought of another: Sometimes Fear Is The Appropriate Response. And that one has TONS of examples in my mind! Sounds awsome, Sparrow! I would love to see those tropes become official! ^^

Well, I have quite a few examples up for the new trope now... can you guys think of any more to add before I make it official? . I mean, I know others can add to it after I launch it, but putting up more examples while it's in the YKTTW process thing will increase chances of more examples (along with putting the trope on the pages of those it applies to, of course)!

Well, Moses has to return to Egypt in order to free his people. I'm sure that counts.

I have no idea why I have waited so long to view this. I love sites that over-analyze and reveal all the formulas in films/books/ etc.*headdesk*
For the Go Back to the Source trope, could the Lion King work? Simba had to return to Pride Rock and dethrone scar so he could become king.

You could also add a section for real life. Several animals like Alaskan Salmon travel back to their place of birth to spawn.

Hey, good point! Oh, and could also add how scientists are trying to create particles that existed in the Big Bang, which was the source of matter... I'll add both of those, and I think it's about time we make this trope official!

IT'S OFFICIAL!!! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitle1d5irnzaNext up: Sometimes Fear Is The Appropriate Response! (and this one, I have seen a million times: The Big Bad (or a similar enemy) comes, and what do the heros do? Do they fight it? Nope! They scream, run away, or both.)

*throws confetti* Whoo! It's official! And as for SFITAR, That is a great idea! You could say something like "Usually used for humor. When a character is faced with a conflict, instead of standing and fighting it like a Hero would do, they do the sensible thing and run away as fast as their legs can manage. Also used with a party of two or more, when they are cornered. One asks "What do we do now?" and one says something along the lines of "we...RUN!" having about a 3 second head start before the others realize what is happening." There are so many cases I have seen of this. Probably the best known one is the several Monty Python "Run away!" scenes. Also the part in El Dorado(sp?) when Miguel and Tulio are staring a bull straight in the face, and Tulio says "I've got a plan. You, pet him. And I'll...Run!" and proceeds to leave Miguel in the dust. And then in a Comedy-SciFi show called Red Dwarf, in the episode Pete-Part 1, the posse accidentally creates a T-Rex from a bird, and after it has just eatien a person, turns to them. Kryten says "what now, sir?" And Rimmer, the Dirty Coward of the group, says "Follow the Rimmer-shaped blur!" I absolutely adore doing this kind of stuff, so expect me to help out A LOT.
