That damn Chancellor's really starting to make my blood boil... He has no right to build upon a creation that's not his own, let alone treat the scientist that way... Things are definitely not good. The question is... did the Chancellor intend for the B.R.A.I.N. to go awry, or did it malfunction because he had no idea what he was tampering with? My guess is that the chancellor intended to turn the B.R.A.I.N. into a war machine, rather than use it for improving the lives of the people, but he was too stupid to realize that a robot built to learn and evolve would eventually use that power against him. Something tells me this has less to do with an "evil" leader than it does a "stupid" one that made a rash decision.

well here's a picture from the new clipping 12 told me about, there are i think 5 article on the one page, one looked to be a poll, maybe it's the poll rebel123456789 was talking about, or cost in metal and stuff. They really DO remind me of 1 & 2

ehehe thankies go to 12, but on another topic; we kinda get the idea of how big B.R.A.I.N. is BEFORE it's house unit is built, and the professor is even putting his on on B.R.A.I.N. to show much hes proud of it and himself, he does care for B.R.A.I.N. like a child it;s sweet....but i'm starting to think that maybe the Chancellor changed it;s name from B.R.A.I.N. to the Fabrication Machine, since he did take it away from the professor

Update today, jornal entry and new green-glowy-symbol-at-bottom-of-the-page The Fabrication Machine is "functional", and is ready to be mass-produced. While it has no empathy or logic, the Scientist says it has "near perfect intellect". I bet that the missing logic and NEAR perfect intellect will be its downfall *hopes* Edit: But now that I think about it, I bet the Fabrication "fails" and makes the Cat-Beast, so they fix its smartness

So The Chancellor even bothered to rename it? He must think that just because he wanted the scientist to make something brilliant means that it's automatically his...

Although I'm not terribly suprised at this turn of events, I get the feeling that we're only getting half of the story... with (I assume) 2 more months of updates left, I could very well be right.

Indeed. We still have a ton of audio clips left to go through on that site...
BTW, does anyone besides me think it's hilarious that the journals seem to be magically adding pages? XD

I really hope that the last 9 (or 8) audio clips are descriptions of him making the other dolls; I really really hope there's even just a nod to the creation of the other dolls (not just 9).

If anything, they might just say something like "To counter the threat that the machines posed against humanity, the scientist began to build a series of sentient rag dolls." It wouldn"t be until his death that they really specify how many were made; "However, after infusing his 9th doll with what remained of his soul, the scientist perished."

It's interesting that in his new post with the pictures of the Fabrication Machine he calls it the "Chancellor's" Fabrication Machine...

Well, that's because this is not the scientist's design. The Chancellor redesigned it to suit his own desires, so technically, this new design is The Chancellor's Fabrication Machine.

i am suprised by this...i thought that since in an earlier memo the b.r.a.i.n added a limb onto itself, that it would continue to add onto itself...and become the fabrication machine we know and hate

I think that was meant to invoke the feeling that B.R.A.I.N. is smart enough as it is, and that adding onto it the way The Chancellor has done would only make things worse.

I think this is a departure from the "evil scientist" cliche. Instead of putting all the blame on one (innocent) eccentric, the director decides to come up with a more reasonable and realistic scenario of the authority figure toying with powers that shouldn't be tampered with. Sort of like the Nazi Regime manipulating its brilliant minds to create and design atrocities. Poor scientist. Poor Scientist.
