Possibly. Of course, he woke up after a good jolting fall, so maybe the scientist had to give them a good shake or a little tap for them to gain consciousness.
I always thought it was a combination of both, being disconnected from the talisman as well as having to be disturbed. *shrug*

I agree
9 didn't wake up till he fell. It almost sounds like giraffes, how they are born falling to the ground which kinda makes them aware and concious (Sp?)

LOL! Good find, Dasha! I never noticed that... after how many times watching the movie, now?
I also find it amusing how 8 is doing all the grunt work. XD

Actually, I think Lux Boy is a type of paint, since that's a paint bucket. But direct reference wouldn't have been as interesting, as that. LOL! Good find, Dasha! I never noticed that... after how many times watching the movie, now? I watched the movie 2 times thoroughly(English and Russian version). But sure that I rewatch some moments many many times .

I noticed some things in the books, too. In this screenshot: The texts in the book appear to be in Latin and the words along the star-shaped circle are: Spiritum, Anima, and Corpus. There's another one in the circle, but I can't make out... According to various online translators and dictionaries, these words indicate "spirit/soul," "life," and "dead/lifeless body." A formula for creating homunculi, perhaps? Nobody over-analyzes like me! ><;;

It must be really late because I'm cracking up over 3 playing with 9's finger around 1:14 in this clip.

...is it just me, or do 90% of the books have no titles, or pictures, of any kind? I know they can't add something to every book, but it just seems odd to me. XD

I would chalk that up to old age- the dust and stuff wore the covers down after the explosions and death and destruction and stuff, and the titles just faded away, or just aren't visible. I mean, really, those books are like, 20-years-old or something I would think. I could only guess the titles would eventualy kind of go away just a little in that time frame..

Well, at least they have an excuse.
"So, why is it that none of the books had a title? Were you just being lazy?" "Oh, that? The books were just old." "But that wouldn't make any sense- how could age completely rub off the title-" "The books are old." "But that-" "The books. Are just. Old."

A formula for creating homunculi, perhaps? I think your dead on. If I remember correctly, on the right page of that book it has an illustration of the soul transfer and there's a little "root man" on the pedestal. Supposedly, roots and dirt were some of the main materials in Homunculi creation in the early days.

I agree that this that is possibly a forumuli for a homunculus. A very basic definition of a homunculus is an artificially created being that is human like in nature.
Sounds like the stitchpunks to me!

Cissy & YAY: See, I don't like that "time has passed" excuse! lol I know its been a while since the world ended, but it hasn't been 200 years or anything! Plus most of the books seem to be in fair condition... Of course, I'm just being picky. >.> It probably WAS the animators saving time. XD BUT STILL!

When watching the clip of 9 and 5's first meeting, I noticed that 5's little repair-bed thingy was made from a gutted roller skate. The companion to 2's junk cart maybe?
I can imagine them getting bored and taking turns pushing eachother around the throne room on it. They'd have to team up when it was 8's turn.

The 'bed' is the pair to 2's 'cart'.
