What bugged me about the movie? Pretty much everything that the scientist did. He built the damn machine to begin with, so why the hell didn't he build a fail safe in case it did go Hal 9000 on everyone? Wasn't the biggest problem for the people about the machines that there were so many and were constantly being churned out? That could've easily been resolved by a remote design to shut it down as soon as it tried to fuck with humans! Anyone could have thought of that! Especially some sort of military leader!
Hell, you know what would have been a better idea to try and stop the machines instead of creating life with a bunch of ragdolls? I dunno, fucking ANYTHING that didn't require everything on the planet to be long dead and incapable of supporting organic life anymore! Even so, how he planned to make the soul rain was pretty dumb as well. Was he actually expecting his creations to just kill themselves so the rain would have life giving soul macguffin in it? I don't see why they would because he never bothered to TELL any of them about it except for leaving an easily missed holographic box (wait, WHAT!? He can build a holographic recording device but he can't make a fucking EMP?) for the ragdoll that he didn't seem entirely sure would work, and didn't for 50 years? Good thing that series of events happened entirely by chance that caused a NEED for them to shoot their souls into the sky from some sort of weird ritual that I don't recall ever being described to 9 or even mentioned before at any point, or explained by 9 to a confused 7 as to why the hell they needed to set it up in the first place...
there's probably more but I need sleep right now.... >.<
