I feel silly when type this- But now whenever I listen to "Coin Operated Boy" by the Dresden Dolls I can't help but think of [Insert Stitchpunk couple here] XD; Or just a stitchpunk in general.
Coin operated boy Sitting on the shelf he is just a toy But I turn him on and he comes to life Automatic joy That is why I want a coin operated boy
And also "Rise Today" by Alter Bridge reminds me of when 9 initially wakes up :3

When I read about the ending, the song Secret Crowds came to me. *points to siggy* I think Angels&Airwaves would be great. But that's just my opinion. ^_^

I was listening to Brand New's "At the Bottom" today, and for some reason, it really reminded me of 9. I think it's due to the overall dark tone of the song, and a lot of the lyrics fit the movie too. Specifically, 2's death. Wait I watched you throw out your bouquet Now i think about you everyday I'm alone now in my bed- Sort of reminds me of 9, regarding 2's death. He can't stop thinking about it, and knows it's his fault, so he feels lonely. And there's a lake And at the bottom you'll find all our friends They don't swim cause they're all dead- Referring to all the dead stitchpunks. ... Well I carry this box to the proper place And when I lower it down I let you fade away I hope that you would do this for me I'd serve you drugs on a silver plate If I thought it would help you get away I hope that you would do this for me- Once again, this reminds me a lot of 2's funeral scene. Lowering his body into the lake and letting him float away... Mostly I see this from 5's perspective. The line 'I hope that you would do this for me' reminds me of what 9 said to 5 after 2 was kidnapped: "You know he would do the same thing for you", or something similar to that. Wow, that was lengthy. And I was really cautious about the spoilers, since I'm not really certain about what the policy is regarding spoilers.

For me it has to be "Nemo" by Nightwish. The lyrics remind me of all the stitchpunks and thir internal struggles.
This is me for forever One of the lost ones The one without a name Without an honest heart as compass
This is me for forever One without a name These lines the last endeavor To find the missing lifeline
Oh how I wish For soothing rain All I wish is to dream again My loving heart Lost in the dark For hope I'd give my everything
My flower Withered between The pages two and three The once and forever bloom gone with my sins
Walk the dark path Sleep with angels Call the past for help Touch me with your love And reveal to me my true name
Oh how I wish For soothing rain All I wish is to dream again My loving heart Lost in the dark For hope I'd give my everything
Oh how I wish For soothing rain Oh how I wish to dream again Once and for all And all for once Nemo my name for evermore
Nemo sailing home Nemo letting go
Oh how I wish For soothing rain All I wish is to dream again My loving heart Lost in the dark For hope I'd give my everything
Oh how I wish For soothing rain Oh how I wish to dream again Once and for all And all for once Nemo my name for evermore

While I don't think the version with lyrics fits at all, I think the instrumental (karaoke) version fits nicely and depressingly (and I hate most of the songs by this artist): When Your Gone: Avril Lavigne. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qoo9pe84Lqw&feature=channel_pageJust listen to it and look at pictures of the characters. You'll feel SOMETHING. For once, lyric kill the feel of the song.

'Cartoon Heroes' by Aqua for obvious reasons. >8)
'Someday' by Celtic Woman. It speaks of the hopes of 9- to create a brighter and happier world.
'Dig It' by the D-Tent Boys.. don't ask. But every time I hear it I think 9.
'Human Again' from Beauty and the Beast.... just go with it 'kay? It makes me laugh. XD
'Mordred's Lullaby' by Heather Dale. The song of a mother singing to her child... the mother is corrupted and evil and is telling her son of the evils she wants him to perform.... It reminds me of... The Fabricator, singing to its machines...
Hush, child.... The darkness will rise from the deep and carry you down into sleep Child, the darkness will rise from the deep... And carry you down into sleep...
Guileless son, I'll shape your belief. And you'll always know that your father's a thief....
I imagine it would be singing of the Scientist... who it viewed as its father and then the Chancellor... who stole it and transformed it into a monster.
And you won't understand the cause of your grief, but you'll always follow the voices beneath
Loyalty loyalty loyalty loyalty... Loyalty loyalty loyalty only to me....
Guileless son, your spirit will hate her: the flower who married my brother the traitor-!
Sort of a... 9 and 7 esque thing... 9 is, in a sense, the fabricator's brother. And lets be honest, 7 was rather abused by the machines in this film.
And you will expose his puppet behaviour- For you are the proof of how he betrayed her...
9 blames himself for what happened to 2... and he is also the reason the Fabricator awoke and began making machines... in a sort of way... betrayal.
Loyalty loyalty loyalty loyalty.... Loyalty loyalty loyalty only to me....
Hush, child... Darkness will rise from the deep and carry you down into sleep Child, the darkness will rise from the deep... And carry you down into sleep...
Guileless son, each day you grow older. Each moment I'm watching my vengeance unfold. For the child of my body, the flesh of my soul... Will die in returning the birthright he stole.
Loyalty loyalty loyalty loyalty.... Loyalty loyalty loyalty only to me
Hush, child.... The darkness will rise from the deep And carry you down into sleep Child, the darkness will rise from the deep And carry you down into sleep
Speaks for itself, mostly...
'Run' by Snow Patrol SCREAMS 2 to me... particularly this section:
To think I might not see those eyes... Makes it so hard not to cry! And as we say our long goodbye.... I nearly do
Light up, light up-! As if you have a choice. Even if you cannot hear my voice: I'll be right beside you dear-!
Louder louder-! And we'll run for our lives! I can hardly speak I understand: Why you can't raise your voice to say
Slower slower... We don't have time for that All I want is to find an easier way to get out of our little heads
Have heart my dear! We're bound to be afraid, Even if it's just for a few days: making up for all this mess...
Light up- the light that 2 brought to the world. The fear that they would never see his soft grin again. 'Little heads' 'making up for all this mess'... NIIIIIINE.
'Weird Science' by Oingo Boingo. 8) Obvious reasons, I think.
'Bring Him Home' from Les Miserables. It's a... 2/1 singing about 9. Let us old ones go, so that this young one may live and better support those we leave behind. We've lived our lives, he hasn't. Give him a chance. Take us instead and let him live.
God on high-! Hear my prayer-! In my need, you have always been there...
He is young- he's afraid-! Let him rest.... Heaven blessed. Bring him home-! Bring him home-! Bring him home.....
He's like the son I might have known- if God had granted me a son. The summers die- one by one- how soon they fly-! On and on! And I am old... And will be gone....
Bring him peace- bring him joy! He is young.... he is only a boy!
You can take.... You can give-! Let him be-! Let him live.... If I die, let me die-! Let him live... Bring him home... bring him home.... Bring him home.
Last one. xD
'Your Call'- Second Hand Serenade. This song.. for me, it's a 7 and 9 song. I shall explain:
...It's playing on repeat, Just like when we would meet Like when we would meet...
Cause I was born to tell you I love you and I am torn to do what I have to...
Born to tell her he loves her? Probably. Torn to do what he has to and what he wants to do? Oh, most definitely.
...to make you mine.... Stay with me tonight...
'PLEASE, we can't do this without you-!!' anyone?
Stripped and polished, I am new, I am fresh I am feeling so ambitious, you and me, flesh to flesh Cause every breath that you will take when you are sitting next to me will bring life into my deepest hopes, What's your fantasy?
Cause I was born to tell you I love you and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine Stay with me tonight
And I'm tired of being all alone, and this solitary moment makes me want to come back home...
Cause I was born to tell you I love you and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine Stay with me tonight
Alright... I'm done. XD

Now I'm definitely getting a 9 vibe from "Eternal" by Evanesence... it's really no lyrics, just background music and interesting composition, but they incorporate rain into a lot of it and inbetween ballads...
Also, has anyone thought of making a Fan Soundtrack or FST? <:3 I came from the Hetalia community where it as quite common, so I was wondering if anyone here was thinking the same? (Or perhaps that's for another topic... >_> )

I'm not sure if someone already mentioned this, but I really think that "New Soul" by Yael Naim ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgEfYGzojcA ) suits 9, and maybe a little hint of 7x9 in there. 'I'm a new soul I came to this strange world Hoping I could learn a bit bout how to give and take. But since I came here, Felt the joy and the fear Finding myself making every possible mistake'

For some reason, the song "Castle on a Cloud" makes me think of the twins. Or at least imagine them singing it.
There is a lady all in white, Holds me and sings a lullaby, She's nice to see and she's soft to touch, She says "Cosette, I love you very much."
I know a place where no one's lost, I know a place where no one cries, Crying at all is not allowed, Not in my castle on a cloud. (Well....just ignore the "Cosette" part, anyway.)

Hm. A few, I think.
"New Divide," by Linkin Park I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve
So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes Give me reason to fill this hole, connect the space between Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies across this new divide
"Twisted and Broken" by Abney Park If I am the assembled, from the sins of my father, And if I am created, by the actions of my mother, If I was brought to being by a broken machine, How could I come to be, sane?
Twisted and broken, some of the parts are missing But I was left alive. My creators fought, I was left unfinished... And I was left behind.
"21 Guns," by Green Day Did you try to live on your own When you burned down the house and home? Did you stand too close to the fire? Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone
When it's time to live and let die And you can't get another try Something inside this heart has died You're in ruins

"Ten Thousand Lines" by Electric President immediately reminded me of 9. I highly recommend it, it's got this creepy, empty quality to it. A lot of it reminds me of the Scientist, but also of the stitchpunks and the world they inherited:
We paint the future from this bedroom. With lots of progress; cold and heartless. And nothing lives, just twitches and moves. It's all synthetic, but it's all we've got.
Thousands of wires spread through the halls. Thousands of eyes live in our walls. And now they can see just what we've done (oh no) Now they can see what we've become.
No sun. Just radiation here. Get it by the lungful. No time. No way to count the years. Except by the creaking sounds in your bones.
They've got your name. They've got your number. They've got your hopes, your dreams, your future. They've got your loved ones by the throat. And soon enough they'll let you know. And I've learned enough to keep my mouth shut. I've learned enough to watch my back. And I've learned enough to become wallpaper. And blend in with the cracks.
(We've though too much; said nothing. We've heard it all; there's nothing new. We've seen the way to our undoing. And the way to yours as well.)
Ten thousand lines run from our minds. And ten thousand plans spread from our hands. And now we can see just what we've done (oh no) And now we can see what we've become (oh no) And now we can see just where we stand
