I haven't seen a thread such as this so far ( if one does exist and I've somehow overlooked it, please do not hold it against me. I think I"m safe, though. ...*hopes*)
But yeah---heard any songs lately that reminded you of the movie 9: plot, characters, pairings, ect? Post the lyrics here!
Anyway, I have one. It's called " Nothing I Won't Give" by Vic Mignogna, and was originally written and preformed for the anime series Fullmetal Alchemist, but I was listening to it today in the car on the way to Columbus to see Ponyo, and after the first few words it immediately reminded me of 9, mainly how 9 and 5 would feel about 2's death.
Haunted by the past A nightmare that seemed so unreal I wish that I could turn back time And spare the pain that we both feel And now we’ve changed Things will never be the same (Things will never be the same)
We were foolish then But our trials served to make us strong The burdens are not yours alone We’ve sought the answers for so long But they’re not free They cost you more than they cost me (My brother…)
I promise you, there is nothing I won’t give To see this through Return the soul to where it lives I promise you, I’d go everywhere I’ve been To find a way to make atonement for my sin and see See your smiling face again
When we’ve paid the price at last And we are whole once more Life will be the way it was The way it was before the day She slipped away Together we’ll redeem that day
And I promise you, there is nothing I won’t give To see this through Return the soul to where it lives I promise you, I’d go everywhere I’ve been To find a way to make atonement for my sin and see See your smiling face…
(I promise…)[3 x]
I promise you, there is nothing I won’t give To see this through Return the soul to where it lives I promise you, I’d go everywhere I’ve been To find a way to make atonement for my sin and see See your smiling face again

Well, I'm going to say the obvious- Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria. *shot*
Other songs that really just inspire me for 9 fanworks: Far Away: Nickleback Love Like This: Natasha Bedingfield feat. Sean Kingston What If: Safety Suit Bruises: Chairlift Undertow: Stars Sunrise: Norah Jones Love Shack: B 52's
You may have guessed that it's for shippy stuff- that seems to be a specialty of mine.

Heh..we're playing Love Shack in marching band as part of our first halftime show. ^^'' Shipping stuff is fun....." You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift always ends up making me want to write 9x7 stuff for some reason. ^^ Another song that reminds me of 9 is " Look Through My Eyes " by Phil Collins from Disney's " Brother Bear".

For some reason the song "Every Day Is Exactly the Same" by Nine Inch Nails always makes me think of 6 before 9 arrived.

" Fear" by Paulie Perdette reminds me very much of 7.
Are you scared of the dark Are you afraid they’ll break your heart Are you afraid you’ll lose yourself Are you afraid of your own health
Are you scared to lose Are you afraid to choose Are you afraid you’ll win Are you scared of your own sin
Are you scared to forgive Are you afraid to live Are you afraid to die Do you think you told a lie
Chorus:
To live When you think you’re dying To laugh When you feel like crying To stand When you think you’re gonna fall It’s just fear after all It’s only fear after all
Are you afraid you’ll be alone Are you scared to pick up the phone Are you scared of the past Do you think that you might crash Do you think you’re in too deep
Are you afraid to sleep Are you scared there’s no stability Are you afraid of your own fragility
Chorus
To mend When you’re think you’re breaking To strength When you know you’re shaking To pray When your back’s against the wall
It’s only fear after all
Are you scared of the end Are you scared to begin Are you scared of the start Do you think they’ll break your heart Do you think they’ll break your heart
Chorus
It’s only fear The only fear is fear itself The only fear is fear itself The only fear is fear itself It’s only fear

Eh... I'm gonna go with "Young" by Hollywood Undead... Well, more of only one verse:
We are young we have heart Born in this world as it all falls apart We are strong But we don't belong Born in this world as it all falls apart
The rest of the song doesn't really match... but it still reminds me of 9.
Another song is "One-X" by Three Days Grace.
Do you think about Everything you've been through You never thought you'd be so depressed Are you wondering Is it life or death Do you think that there's no one like you
We are We are We are We are the ones We get knocked down We get back up and stand above the crowd We are one We are the ones We get knocked down We get back up and stand above the crowd We are one
The life I think about Is so much better than this I never thought I'd be stuck in this mess I'm sick of wondering Is it life or death I need to figure out who's behind me
We are We are We are We are the ones We get knocked down We get back up and stand above the crowd We are one We are the ones We get knocked down We get back up and stand above the crowd We are one
The life I think about Is so much better than this I never thought I'd be stuck in this mess I'm sick of wondering Is it life or death?
We are the ones We get knocked down We get back up and stand above the crowd We are one We are the ones We get knocked down We get back up and stand above the crowd We are one
We stand above the crowd We stand above the crowd We stand above the crowd (Crowd) (We stand) We stand above the crowd We stand above the crowd (We Stand) We stand above the crowd
(We are the ones) We stand above the crowd (We get knocked down get back up) We stand above the crowd (We are the ones) We stand above the crowd (We get knocked down get back up) We stand above the crowd
We stand above the crowd We stand above the crowd We stand above the crowd

I was actually thinking of making an AMV with this song... It would be slightly depressing, but that's ok. XD
~~~
We Are the Normal ~ The Goo Goo Dolls
It's a beautiful day I heard everybody say The sun shines down for all of us Just the same you know I like the rain That ain't so obvious
It's a beautiful sight I guess everybody's right This day belongs to all of us Even still I like with a chill That ain't so obvious
We are the normal We live and we die With no reason why We are the normal We live and we die With no reason why
It's a beautiful life and I've got it in my sights And that ain't for all of us It's a beautiful sound When my life comes crashin down That ain't so obvious It's a beautiful sin and I'm doin' it again And that ain't for all of us It's a beautiful life and I've got it in my sights Ain't that so obvious
We are the normal We live and we die With no reason why We are the normal We live and we die With no reason why
We are the normal We live and we die With no reason why We are the normal We live and we die With no reason why There's no reason why...
We are the normal We live and we die With no reason why We are the normal We live and we die With no reason why
I think 'Believe' by Yellowcard fits 9 exceptionally well, followed by 'Welcome to the Black Parade' by My Chemical Romance and 'Mordred's Lullaby' by Heather Dale.
I have a bunch of scenes planned out already. ^_^ Although I sadly can't think of any songs that remind me of 9 other than that one... I guess I'm not a hardcore fangirl yet... give me a few weeks. The Song "You Know Better than I" by David Campbell always makes me think and wonder if 1 is going to be like this at the end of the movie.
To The Stars by Erin McKeown makes me think of 9 more than anything else on my ipod--here are the lyrics for any interested parties, since it's not a very well-known song:
One part sad and two parts brave One part silent and one part says To the stars!
One part black and two parts blue One part wishes the best for you One part changed and two parts fine I'm telling you, I'm fine!
To the stars, to the stars! Oh, we are lit within By all we've been And by all we care to be To the stars, from the wars! Oh, we'll wake up a little this morning A little better than we were before We were before
One part luster, two parts shy Heaven's above, trouble behind One part glory, two parts glow Shine on, shine well, you're free to go!
To the stars, to the stars! Oh, we are lit within By all we've been And by all we care to be To the stars, from the wars! Oh, we'll wake up a little this morning A little better than we were before We were before
One part brilliant, two parts fade Stars apart, shine the same
It makes me think of all the positive things about 9--that these little dolls have all the potential in the world to rise above war and conflict and bring about a better future. All the different "parts" in this song make me think of everything that must have gone into making the stitchpunks. I feel like "To the stars!" makes a good rallying cry. If I had any skill in that department, I'd make this into an amv.
...also, yeah. I'm a folkie. hahaha.
