We can only hope Shane will pull a Lauren Faust and make Thomas the Train make all it's past makers envious!

Thomas the Tank Engine? Seriously? I have no interest in seeing this. Moar dark animated films plz... that don't make me think of the creepy Thomastards that roam the Internet with their machine fetishes. What's next? Teletubbies? Barney? Smurfs? --Oh wait; that'd be a bit late on the draw. I'm all for childhood cartoons...but not THAT childish. I would, however, be intrested if he did Thundercats. Shane. I R dissapoint.

^ Well it DID say Shane is going for a MUCH darker tone for Thomas... we'll just have to see if anymore information on the film comes up to see if it's really worth seeing

Also I believe in the interview he had with Spill.com I think said there were going back to Thomas original roots. Apparently it originally started out like a series of book, which then inspired the TV show. I haven't read the book, but based off the interview it sounds like the book are probably different from the TV showed that was geared towards like preschool aged kids. Besides there's wrong with him wanting to give kid movie a try. I mean heck Hayoa Miyuzaki has worked both kid/family movies and movies more for adult audiences, and he does well both departments. But of course since nobody can predict the future, it's hard to say how this movie will turn out.

For me, it will always be Thomas the kiddie show trian. I've seen too many Youtube poops on him to take him seriously anymore. Actually, I never really have. I think if it's going to be a "dark" version, just make up your own movie with talking trians rather than change up a preschool franchise. I think a lot of people will have a tough time taking him seriously. But, hey, it might actually turn out of be decent, like The Brave Little Toaster. That movie had some weird source material, but it still turned out pretty good. Sadly, I don't think the movie would do very good with making it's money back. Most movies like this don't (sadly enough). We'll have to see. We'll have to see.

Anyone know if this is still in the making or on hiatus or...? I haven't heard any news about this movie as of late.

Thanks to my newfound love of Thomas the Tank Engine, I'm SO pumped for this! Apparently it's slated for a 2014 release, and really nothing's known about it, except for the fact that its based closer to The Railway Series than to the animated series. Here's the Thomas Wiki's page for the movie (where it's called the "WWII Movie" for now): ttte.wikia.com/wiki/%22The_WWII_Movie%22Hopefully this movie ends up better than The Magic Railroad! Yeah...even the fans don't like the how that movie came out to be (though most WILL consider it a guilty pleasure). If you have ever seen it, by the way, PLEASE try to find as much information about the behind the scenes and what could have been! This movie is TRULY a look to see how much it changed from its original form!
