^ LOL
As for me? I'm not sure, a bit nuetral on this. I'm not saying about him doing the film. I support him, and really hope that he'll bring out the better of the series like Lauren Faust did with MLP. *Shot*
I just don't know if I will be seeing it or not, considering I'm the youngest of two siblings o.o But it's great to see him creating a film for the younger age group, and I hope it does well.

More power to him, in my mind. He's not typecasting himself and only being known for dark animation, developing his skills over different genres I'll take my daughter to see it.

Can't say I was ever really into Thomas the Tank Engine, but I wish him the best in this venture!

LOL VANCE. XDDD
I... have zero interest in Thomas the Tank Engine. XD But I think it's really sweet that he wants to work on a children's movie because of his daughter. I'm all for people branching out creatively, whatever the reason. Hope it does well!

When I first heard about this on Clevver TV, I got a little bit worried, but it sounded really interesting. I will give this film a chance and who knows it may end up as an epic hit. It's so cool that Shane is doing something totally different with Thomas and giving it a darker theme. I remember watching Thomas long time ago, now seeing this just brings back some memories.

"Following a REALLY bad cartoon (“9″) with this kind of juvenile tripe is a career killer. Gives cartoons a bad name."
I'm sorry, this stuck out to me the most. REALLY bad? Man, these commenters are morons!

......... What. (and it's not a cartoon, it's a MOVIE. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE SOMETHING.)

And there was one commenter who actually had the nerve to call Shane "douchey"! God, if I could slap someone through a monitor...

I'm not interested in seeing it myself, but honestly, it's good for a director to have range in working with different audiences. And broadening a seemingly childish concept or franchise to a wider and more engaged audience isn't impossible. We've seen how "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" took with older viewers. So, power to Shane Acker, I'm sure he'll do a good job if he can work the screen-writing enough. C:

I'm just a little bit disappointed with this news. Shane Acker was really good at getting the dark feel of 9, so him suddenly doing a Thomas the Tank Engine movie? It's just too weird.
Plus it's going to be a kids' movie, so I'll likely not see it. I'm not a fan of Thomas :/

This was rather shocking to see. I'm happy he was put on a nother movie for sure but a kids film was the last type I'd imagin. How ever I agree this is a good thing. May be there's a chance for this to turn out like a good old 90's like kid film. Whith plenty of laughs but still having it's scary & deep moments. Just look at that poster! That dosen's remind meld the No.1 train I grew up with. My consern is the writer for this film. All I can do is hope I guess. I'm also on the fence about seeing it.

Thomas was a major part of my childhood, so I'll see this just to see how he can do with it.
