What do you think the movie would be like if the machines could talk? How would the movie be different? What forms of dialogue might occur? Who do you think their voice actors would be?
Personally, in terms of VA's, a perfect one for Seamstress comes to mind: Teri Hatcher, who voiced the Other Mother from Coraline. The Other Mother's voice is just so creepy that I can definitely see her voice fitting the Seamstress! As for possible dialogue: 1: T....T-2? *is becoming hypnotized* Seamstress: Sorry to disappoint, but... *comes up from behind 2, revealing herself* I'm not 2. *attacks to sew 1 up*
Any other thoughts on this?

Hmm... It would be interesting. And it would enforce the personality of each Machine. And I agree. She would be a perfect voice actor for the Seamstress. ;D

Ohhh, this is interesting! I think if the machines did talk, they maybe sound robotic or almost human like the ragdolls. And I agree, Teri Hatcher would be awesome as the Seamstress!
Have one voice actor for the Cat Beast, I keep thinking Ken Page the voice of Oogie in Nightmare before Christmas. His Oogie voice sounds so villainy, creepy and jazzy like. He actually played two cat characters in two musicals.

I think it would be incredibly creepy to have The Fab talk in a robot child's voice (Shane mentioned how the Fab was child-like in the beginning, so it could work XD).

I like that idea! I had made stitchpunk versions of the machines, and I had picked out who I thought would be good voice actors: The Fabrication Machine: Alfred Molina (get the reference?) Cat Beast: Johnathan Ian Mathers (Foamy the Squirrel's voice actor!) The Winged Beast: Frank Welker The Seamstress: Tress MacNeille

While it would be really cool to have them talk, it also has it's downsides.
The stitchpunks represent the good parts of humanity: Knowledge, emotion, innovation, etc
The machines represent the not-so-good parts: Animalistic instinct, power, destruction
Also, one of the alures(sp?) of the machines is that they are mysterious and silent save for a few growls or screeches. They are animalistic and seemingly as far from humanity as possible, but in fact represent the deep underlying bases of humanity itself.
So at least, in my opinion, talking machines would defeat the purpose of what the machines actually represent and therefore change the movie dramatically.

If the machines could talk I'd picture them either sounding very sophisticated and intelligent like EDI from Mass Effect or H.A.L. or just totally batshit insane.

If the machines could talk their voice actors would be...
Fabrication Machine: Ryan Drummon (voice of Metal Sonic in Sonic Heroes)
Cat Beast: Christopher Sabat (voice of Ritsu Kasanoda from Ouran High School Host Club)
Winged Beast: Bobjenz from Youtube (voice of Grapefruit from Annoying Orange)
Seamstress: ...idk. xD
