Not sure if anyone has seen this yet, but here's some unused concept art from 9 that I happened unintentionally stumble across while I was on some bizarre google search quest. It's some early concepts of the scientist and the chancellor. Seems like they were originally going for a steampunk/1800's-early 1900's Victorian setting at first, until they decided to go for the 20's-40's route: This last image is especially intriguing... You can find them (and more of the artist's work,) right here: catapusdesign.blogspot.com/

WOAH! Concept art of the Scientist and the Chancellor?! That's awesome! Anyone notice how on the first page with sketches of the Scientist, we see 9 there next to him? Now we finally have a Stitchpunk/Human size comparison! Those designs are interesting too... if you ask me, drawing H of the Scientist looks a little like Albert Einstein, and drawing E of the Chancellor looks like a twisted version of Count Olaf! And the last picture... woah... that's CREEPY! Do you think that in that picture it seems to suggest that the Chancellor killed the Scientist?

...death by feather in the eye... LOL Letter "G" of the chancellor reminds me of Vector from Despicable Me. XD
Cool find, though! Concept art is always interesting, hehehe

This is so cool! X3 Glad to see some more concept art!
The last picture . . . I guess that was one of the discarded scenes or ideas that Shane had to get rid of because it would up the rating? Can you imagine how that would've went? He still has the box he's supposed to give 9 . . . *shudders* More story potential! *wants to know everything that was left on the cutting room floor*
The artist is also very skilled. 83 His art is definitely something to look at.

Oh, wow~! Good find!
So. . . .the Chancellor was supposed to kill the Scientist? 8o That's epic~! And wow, the feather pen in the eye looks brutal. . . .
EDIT: Also, anyone else notice that the Chancellor with the monocle's eye is like. . . Off center? His eyes aren't right. 8/

Woah that's awesome. It's pretty cool how they had so many ideas for these characters.

Ha, I love the scientist's early designs! The concept art of the Chancellor killing the scientist reminds me of some other concept art of the chancellor/scientist being strangled by the other (don't remember which) but I can't refind it. It was somewhere around here...

*Points at the top concept art* It's Geppetto! My favorite is the B drawing of the Scientist. The B drawing of the Cancellor reminded me of Hitler... I wonder if that one was inspired as such originally? And imagine how 9 would've reacted if he had seen the last picture. He probably would've been terrified. Not a great thing to see in your first moments of activation. Okay, one more. Speaking of the size comparison, wouldn't 8 just about reach the Scientist's knee?

I've gotta say, the first early concept design of the Scientist: no. Just no. He seriously looks wrong and he needs to shave. *smacked*
As for the second Scientist concept, I'll chose B and H please!
*rofls at the Chancellor concept* I'm sorry, but whoever was in charge of the early Chancellor designs, is going to be made fun of, 'cause those look ridiculous! *stabbed by the Chancellor*
As for the last picture...*looks at it*
HOLYCRAPSHANEWHATWEREYOUTHINKING?!

Hmmm anyone notice the green ring on the scientist's hand in the last picture? I just noticed it now.
In fact, I'm kinda baffled that I didn't notice notice earlier, because it appears as if the artist wanted to make it rather distinct... Considering the color and brightness that it has and all.
Which leads me to wonder... does this prove that the scientist was married? Or perhaps, was married in some discarded plot line? Or maybe... it was the second half of the talisman, disguised to look like some sort of normal ring, so that the Chancellor wouldn't be able to find it? Didn't Shane say that he intended the talisman to be split into 2 parts in the original script? Perhaps this was the second part of the talisman?

I think it's interesting. in fact, I wouldn't mind seeing that in the film. But I agree with you on the early Chancellor designs. Waaaaay too over-exaggerated. The only one I like is concept H; it's somewhat reminiscent to Stalin.

COOL! This is amazing art of the Scientist and the Chancellor! I loved how they originally thought of the Steampunk style for the humans and love how they compaired the stitchpunks to the humans height. I kinda like A and D cuz of the goggles! XD The tall thin image of the Chancellor looks really creepy, inculting B he looks like Hitler. Now the last image really surpised me, I can tell that there is an untold story here. I also noticed that the Scientist was wearing a green ring, could that mean something? 8/

...One of the concept pics for the Chancellor reminds me of Winston Churchill. And the last pic looks really..........brutal. Shane certainly was going for the dark angle for 9.
