So ... I've been working on my 21 ragdoll and went into town today looking for supplies. Wandered into the sewing section of my friendly neighbourhood Hobby Lobby ... and this little beauty catches my eye. Optics, oui? Mr Scientist, I think you've been found out ...

OH, and just another FYI. These optics are completely to-scale. I put them up against my blueprints and they were a perfect match >D

That's too cool! It looks like you plucked the optics right off of 9. XD The inside part was where the scientist put the camera/eye part... very interesting... <3

That's a really interesting find, JJ! I've always thought that the stitchpunk's optics were just plain ol' camera lens's or something, but this is really cool! [/center]

So all along their optics were button things with camera lenses put in then so they could blink and such? Wow! L.ike a lot of people, I thought they were camera lens, but to know that they're buttons with camera lens things in them...
hough I just remembered, when the Scientist was shown putting 9's optics in, they looked more extendedish than just buttons... but maybe that was the camera lens part...
Too bad I don't have a Hobby Lobby where I live, nor do I know how to sew, or I would make a 6 plushie!... although, considering his optics, I'd have to find a small silver one and a large pale gold one!
I guess my 6 costume for this year will have to do (when I get started on it that is)!

I guess my 6 costume for this year will have to do (when I get started on it that is)! I think that extended part was a piece of copper tubing. Stitchpunk optics have those little thin pieces of metal that hold the button snaps in place, so they must be in two parts My theory is that the camera lens is inside the copper tubing, which protects it both inside and outside the head. And these snaps came in various sizes I think this one was the second largest on the rack? If you could get the larger size it wouldn't need much work - I just used a Sharpie to colour in 21's black optic and it's staying put. And EPIC 6 costume! You'll have to show photos! A 6 plush may be on the horizon for me if I can get enough practice with these ...
