That's an interesting observation, I never thought of that...
6 kind of curves like the number, as well... he also has a bit of a belly, like the round part of the number. XD

XD yes, but 5 looks nothing like a 5...he's just chubby XD
seriously, what if their numbers HAVE no real significance?? cuz it's kinda hard to believe that each character was really meant to have that number...like, why is 7 a girl??? why 7??? and why are 3 and 4 like children, when their numbers suggest the third and fourth oldest?? see, it doesn't make any sense to me. i think maybe it was random.

In the MOVIE, yes. The scientist just make them all in a row and that was that. But I also think that Shane consciously decided to number certain characters the way he did. Which is what we're analyzing here. Tis' just for fun, anyway. I forgot to mention the one they gave to us, about 9 being the highest in the "evolution", because nobody can be a perfect 10. ^^;

well, ya, but that's not necessarily the character's in relation to their numbers, it's more just in general...BUT HEY, THAT'S OK!!
i just think that beyond just a few characters, the numbers weren't really picked with a purpose...of course, i could be the blonde here, and end up going "HURR DURR!!!" one of these days, but that's to be decided later XD

The 9th tarot card is the Nomad. He holds a staff and a torch

Why did I not post here?
Anna, I agree with your aspect on 1 in the first post, and I can't think of anything for anyone else but 9.
Vance got it, it's what Shane said. The stitchpunks are like a ragdoll embodiment of humanity, and 9 was the last one created. Why? If 10 is perfecting, and the stitchpunks are like humans, there is no way to reach that perfection. It's impossible. 9 is as close as they will ever get.

One of the ways to say 4 in Japanese is Shi. Shi also means death, and so 4 is an unlucky number in Japanese culture.
Now my reasoning might be a bit strange here, but take into account that all of the Stitchpunks that could be sensibly paired with 4 (these Stitchies being 5, 6, and 8), all die in the movie.
Think what you will now. Also, by sensibly paired, I mean the pairing isn't a crack pairing or anything like that. =P

Therefore, the clan (including a '10th') wouldn't have been a whole human soul--9 is still missing.

Going along with them looking like their numbers...3 is an example. When the twins run, they kind of crouch with their arms to their stomachs and fists out, and when in the right direction, they look kind of like a 3.

The 9th tarot card is the Nomad. He holds a staff and a torch A STAFF+ A TORCH= A LIGHTSTAFF Hermit, not Nomad. In the actual story that goes to the tarot cards, the hermit places his lantern on his staff and thrusts it into the dark, in serch for answers. Also, the fifth card is the hierophant which can represent a kind teacher, the seventh card is the charrot, which stands for a ruthless desire to win, and the eighth card is strangth.

...whoa. THAT is quite cool. I love seeing bits and pieces of information and possible research that the creators might have put into their characters, even if it's just speculation on the part of the fans. Gives it a lot more dimension.
