What do you consider to be your favorite aspect of each stitchpunk? It can be something physical (5's eyepatch, 1's sweet duds, 6's voice), regarding their personality (2's kindness, 7's fierce independence), or perhaps something else. You can even do both if you wish.
1 - The "Pope Doll" outfit. It just completes him...he looks rather silly without it. If I had to pick something that doesn't vanish as the film goes on though, I'd pick his voice.
2 - Selflessness. He cares about the others and is willing to sacrifice himself to aid his fellow stitchpunks. Not to mention it's something that he does despite not having the physical prowess of, say, 7.
3 & 4 - The way they communicate. It always amuses me during that scene where they've practically got their eyes pressed up against each other after 9 tells them about awakening the machine. It's so quirky, yet intriguing. Plus, projector eyes for the win.
5 - His voice. It just resonates with the character's insecurity, but also his confidence when he bears down and tries.
6 - His entire physical appearance and how it comes together to define the character's personality. The hair, the mismatching eyes, the striped body...hard to believe the scientist didn't anticipate a character like 6 when he came up with THAT design. He's the one character (except perhaps 1) whose appearance truly mirrors his mind.
7 - Her sense of duty before grudges. Despite disappearing frequently out of her disgust of going back to or dealing with 1, she never really left her fellow stitchpunks in harm's way...her frustration against 1 never overshadowed her will to keep the others safe. I also totally dig the skull helmet...it just completes her XD
8 - His fear, ironically. I think it made him sympathetic, where as if he'd just been a big, dumb brute who threw his weight around, we wouldn't care what happened to him. Perhaps his behavior to the others was a product of that fear, that belittling the others made him feel as tough as he looked.
9 - His sense of responsibility. Though he did make some significant blunders, he was often focused on doing what was right, what needed to be done. He asked the questions that needed to be asked and when he set things in motion, he did everything he could to make sure he'd end it as well.

lol, I misread it at first and thought you said "If I had to pick something that does vanish...." and I was about to go into a fit of screaming rage. Good thing I reread before I embarrassed myself. XD Sorry for the short uninformative post but don't have a lot of time but I'll be back and post my opinions and likes then

Hm... well, what ARE my favorite aspects...? Let me think. I can't narrow it to simply one for some characters though.
1: I think the aspect I like best about him is that he chose to redeem himself and save 9 instead of letting him die. That takes a great amount of character building to do and I hated him before that part. Any character that redeems himself with one act gets kudos for that.
2: You feel that he is the kind of person you'd want to be around, no matter what your age is. He seems kind and is always full of interesting ideas and will listen to you.
3&4: Cute bookworms! That won me over VERY fast, as I am a bibliophile myself. I also think they're cute because they're mute. It add into the feel of the characters.
5: I automatically liked him because of how meek he seemed and his eye patch, but once he stood up to 1 it grew into straight admiration! I am a lot like 5 both physically and personality wise at times so he kind of hit home with me. He is defiantly the Woobie. Plus, he's a perv, you know it! So, I just love him overall.
6: Well, personally I love how strange he is. His little quirks and the fact he is an artist really made me like him. Nothing else to it, that's why I love him.
7: She kicks serious ass. Nuff said. Ok, I also like how she really cares for everyone else on top of kick butt and taking names. But I love how she kicks butt!
8: I have no idea why, but I like the fact that you get the feeling that underneath all his tough guy bravado he's not all that bad. You really see that at the ending.
9: No matter now much of a n00b I think he is, I did like how he WAS trying to help everyone and takes responsibility for his actions. If it wasn't for that I'd hate the idiot, but because of how genuinely he cares for the others and takes responsibility for his actions I can't help but like him.

1 - The "Pope Doll" outfit, like Al. XD It's so ridiculous, it's awesome. I also love his voice (Christopher Plummer, ftw!). It's just... perfect for him. He's also a character that you love to hate.
2 - He's just... adorable. He's the little old man that gives you butterscotch and pats you on the head. XD His voice is cool, too. I also love that little bow he has on his chest.
3 & 4 - They're freaking cute, and funny. And I love their character design. They're fun characters, in general, and I love their natural curiosity... (zipper scene, anyone?)
5 - Gosh, everything… His design, his voice, his personality, his lines in the movie… Even his little crossbow thingy. <3 And of course, his “gerbil butt”! (j/k)
6 - He’s insane, but he still knows what’s going on. It’s hard for him to socialize, but he does infact care for everyone greatly. He’s not stupid, just greatly misunderstood.
7 - Her mothering nature of, well… everyone. She may not always choose the BEST ways to do it, but she protects everyone as much as she can. She cares for them more than she cares for herself. She constantly puts herself in harms way for them… but she can still smile. ^^And her design is awesome. Jennifer Connelly also has a hot voice.
8 - As my friend Sarah so wonderfully put it… “He’s the Pillsbury doughboy on steroids!” I just want to poke his fat stomach. XD
9 - I commend 9 greatly for being as brave, quick thinking, and strong as he was… considering how utterly crappy his first few days of life were. He screwed up greatly, but he tried to right his wrongs. He wanted to help everyone, even the people he didn’t agree with.

8: I have no idea why, but I like the fact that you get the feeling that underneath all his tough guy bravado he's not all that bad. You really see that at the ending. Yay, I'm not the only one who thought that! Well, I can't go as in-depth into these as I would wish, since my eyes are starting to hurt from playing around with video editing all day, but I'll try to get my thoughts as concise and clear as I can. 1: I actually liked this guy from the beginning. The fact is, he's that part of you that you never want to acknowledge, the side that would rather save your own hide than stick around to save others. It's survival instinct! It's not horrible that you have it! Okay, the whole thing about him not caring if 2 died, that was pretty unforgivable, but there was something about that smirk he gives 7 after she holds the blade to his neck. It's like he's telling her he at least has the guts to act on something, all she does is use empty threats. And I felt for him when he said, "They left us nothing. Why must we right their wrongs?" because to him, they were put into a world for no reason and it's a horrible, dead world at that. And his last words are to repeat, "Sometimes one must be sacrificed" but it wasn't smug anymore, it's like he finally understood what that phrase meant, that you sacrifice yourself, not another person. And he did care for the rest of the group in his own strange way, he was just misguided about it. Plus, his voice was awesome. 2: This guy is the sweetest thing in existence, that's the quickest way to sum him up. I could practically feel the bond between him and 5, that's how close they were. 9 hits him in the face with a wrench and the guy isn't mad at him, how can you not love him? He also saved 9 from the cat even though he was so scared. And you can just imagine him being excited about really silly things, like a nail or screw because he could see possibilities in it. And short, sweet old men just seem so adorable to me. 3 and 4: I didn't have much attachment to them as characters, but they were incredibly entertaining to watch on screen. I don't think they're as childish as some people think, they're just inquisitive and have spent so much time around only each other that they don't know the concept of personal space (poor 9). Seeing two people that were so close to each other, both in terms of emotional and physical means, is very endearing. 5: Every aspect of him I loved. The way he held his hands when he was nervous, the way he rushed to 9's side as if to protect him after 1 explained the flashback, his voice that just portrayed all the nervousness and facets of his character. He was scared of everything, when he and 9 are hiding behind that gear when Fab-Mac is looking for them, his breathing is coming in quick gasps and it makes me feel soooo bad for him. He's an incredibly loyal friend too, shown when he was willing to follow 9 to rescue 7 in spite of his fear. And you got to love his closet-pyromania. 6: The fact that his hands were the first thing you see of him. His odd humming that still gets under my skin, the way he's covered an entire wall of drawings of the talisman but he probably doesn't entirely understand what it means, etc. And his walk! I love the little hop-skip thing he does when he moves, the only way I can come close to replicating it is to not move my ankles and turn my feet in a bit. And his voice made me start dry sobbing in the theatre when he told everyone to go back. He sounds so desperate and sad, like it's the last thing he wanted to do. 7: She's pretty kick-ass, though her tendency to always appear in the nick of time got a bit annoying. She still seems sort of motherly, especially towards 3 and 4 since she was the only one who knew they were still alive. The way she says "C'mon! Keep up!" when she, 9 and 5 are running out of the factory was great. It wasn't frightened or patronizing, it was coaxing, almost cheerful, and i still like her for that tiny bit of character shown there. She wouldn't take 1's crap either, she left safety so she could have her freedom. 8: His bully laugh always made me giggle. Yeah, he was a bully, but I don't think it was just because he was plain mean, I think he was the only person who thought 1 was right, that you have to be harsh to keep everyone safe. He's a yes-man, he is good with weapons even if he isn't book smart (though I stick up for because I didn't know what "subjugate" meant either), and there's something about his smile during the soul reunion that just makes me like him a little bit. 9: He's such an adorable moron. Okay, he did do something stupid and we didn't get to see much character development from him, but he's only two days old by the time the movie's done. May I ask how interesting you were when you were two days old? Probably not that interesting. I loved the interaction between him and 1, since they were the only ones that really told each other off for what they did. 1 still saw 9 as that idiot who made everything much worse, and 9 saw 1 as a person who intimidated everyone around him to get power. While we didn't see it as much as we should have, his guilt was still there. He didn't look away when 6 died, he watched it happen and was probably thinking about everything was all his fault, and he was ready to die to save everyone. I don't care if he's fictional, he still gets my respect for that. The scientist: Why has no one talked about him yet? I liked how he tried to fix his mistake, but the thing that always sticks out for me in the movie is that we only get to see the real him- not a projected image, not a photo, truly him- for about 5-10 seconds, a very short amount of time. Every time his message ends I feel sad because I was enjoying listening to him talk. The Fabrication Machine: It counts! First off, it had a wicked awesome design. But I also think it was beginning to get a form of a personality as the movie went on. It was created to make machines of war, things to kill humans, and it took that job to such a high level that it killed off everyone, even the people it had been working for, so it wants to get rid of these little dolls because in its eye(s) they're human as well. Fab-Mac cradles the destroyed winged beast's head in its claws for a moment before crushing it and emitting a sound that I can only describe as a cry of despair before creating something to get revenge. And it almost seems to hesitate before it is about to kill 9, as if those four pieces of a soul its taken have started to affect it and has not only a thought process but a conscience as well. The cat beast: Might as well continue this machine thing. I think the cat beast had some attachment to Fab-Mac and wanted to start it up again so it would have contact with something like it. The winged beast: It wasn't really around long enough to have what I would consider a personality, but I loved watching it, especially how its eyes moved slightly independently from each other. The seamstress: It actually bows before Fab-Mac when offering 8 and 7, as if it views Fab-Mac as its God. That's kind of creepy but mostly cool. So much for short and concise.

Hmm...Let's see:
1: I liked the fact that although he kept everyone in hiding mainly to save his own skin, he finally decided to act instead of hide by the end of the movie: tying down the blimp-bot, helping them roll the barrel, and finally sacrificing himself to save 9. Plus "Pope Doll" FTW!
2: He reminded me so much of my late grandfather that I became rather upset when he died. And despite him being rather frail, he still sacrificed himself (twice!) to save 9.
3 & 4: these two remind me of my two twin cousins: always poking their noses into stuff, taking things apart to learn about them, and being generally well-informed as a result. 3 & 4 were just too cute in the film!
5: I liked him because he finally stood up to 1 by the end of the movie. His death hit me the hardest as well because of the way that his character had gone from timid to brave.
6: I liked 6 the most because he reminds me so much of myself. People hardly ever listen to me when I try to warn them about something-they site my 'inexperience' as an excuse. But they usually find that I'm not wrong very often. I'm also similar to 6 in that when I get an important thought, I have to express it quickly, either through words, writing, or art, or else I'll forget it for weeks. 6 and I seem to share the same problem.
7: I admired her because she never gave up, and because of her bravery. I also tend to admire women of strong character, and 7 is no exception!
8: I suppose I admired his sense of loyalty to 1; but that loyalty was for the wrong reasons most of the time, so I'm kinda torn here.
9: I liked him only because he tried to fix hs mistakes and his bravery of standing up to 1 and the Fabrication Machine.

1: I think for 1, it's the way he changes over the course of the film, leading to his sacrifice at the end (which affected me the most out of all the deaths in the film, btw). He also seems to be the most complex character to me, and I just love that about him. I wasn't really that much into him at first, but the more I saw of him in the film, the more he began to grow on me. 2: For 2, it's definitely his warmth. He's like Obi Wan in the first Star Wars film; even though he's not featured as much as the rest, you still can't help but fall in love with his friendly and welcoming persona, and his death is really affecting. He definitely stands out as a father figure to the group. 3 & 4: I think their unusualness was what did it for me with them, as I just found them so fascinating. They're very quirky characters in the way they communicate and move, and in their blatant curiosity over every little thing. Plus they're obviously into record players, which gives them extra appeal to me. 5: I have to admit, I'm not quite sure what it is that I like so much about 5... I do definitely like him as a character, but I think with him it's just everything about him together that makes him so appealing. I do particularly like his voice, though, as it definitely suits him (plus, realising that he was played by the guy who was in "Chicago" gave me some rather fun visions of him singing "Mr. Cellophane"), and his eye patch is a very cool design idea. 6: With 6, it really is just the whole character that I love. I think the fact that he's an artist is brilliant, and his outlook on the world is perfect. I just adore the fact that something so bad can be happening (ie. the cathedral burning down), and yet he can be just running about and having fun catching stuff. Also, his interactions with the others during "Over The Rainbow" were just brilliant to watch. Generally, he's just such a great character, and my favourite. 7. I think I took the longest to warm up to 7, but now I think she's a very cool character. I love the contrast between her tough and caring sides (which do seem to overlap), as well as the fact that she does have humanising moments to counteract the skilled-warrior side of her (her "let me try that again" line was a perfect example of this). Also, her skull helmet is particularly cool! 8. With 8, it's definitely his loyalty to 1. I've always been particularly fond of characters who are completely loyal to another, and so seeing that side of him made me like him a lot more. I also found it quite sweet how 1 seemed to care at least somewhat for him, seeing how the first thing he asked about after waking up from being hypnotised was where 8 was. 9. Of all the characters, 9 is my least favourite, although he is still likeable. One thing that I do like about him is his naivete, which allows him to see everything through fresh eyes, and do things that others would never think of (like taking 6 seriously, and going after 2). Also, the scene where he first gets his voice box put in was an interesting touch, I thought.

1: His insistancy. Although by far he and 8 are my mosted hated, he does show a bit of love which he hides from the others, making him a more mysterious character that tries not to reveal himself, like when 2 was being sent onto the water, he was hiding in the background, and appeared he was watching in shame :< 2: His kindness and gentle actions. He is quite easy to understand and very loving. I thought him to be the most mature of the group, and who knows, maybe in some way, not in number, he is older than 1? He is quite old, plus he uses a cane, and after 9 and 5 return from trying to save 2, 9 clearly asks why 1 would "send the oldest out" to "scout" the area. 3 and 4: Their shy, childish, and curious actions make them KAWAII 10-fold! Who needs words to describe their awesome cuteness, infact I like that their mute, it shows they don't have to speak to be cute, cause they always are cute. I barely managed to hold back a loud "KAWAII" in the theater when they were riding on the spinwheel, trying to scare 7! X3 5: He's shy, nervous, and tries his best to be cautious. Despite he can be a little too....squimish (He screams a million times in the movie), it's definately his warm, loving side. I was touched to find how he bonded with 2 and 9 in the movie. 6: 6 is one of my favorites. I don't think he's a mad man, compared to those crazy scientists that make frankensteins and such, just a guy who is often thought to be confusing, strange, and weird. But he's a visionary artist, liek me, and also kinda see things his own way...like me 7: Extreme badness. I love 7's ways of rebellion, how she would fight rather than hide. Even though she's rebellious, she has the sweet side too, as she kinda "mothered" 3 and 4 and also, as it appears in the movie, shares thoughts with 9 (Ain't it obvious?) Look in the last part of the movie when rain begins to fall, you'll notice 9 and 7 are holding hands :3 8: Bah, I didn't like 8 very to much. He was tough yes, but also very dimwitted. I think the only thing I liked about him was his bravery when fighting (On the outside), but inside that burlap he is probably very frightened, as he was moments before he got soul-sucked. 9: Second most favorite, Ya gotta love Elijah Wood :3 9 was like pure innocence, trying to find out why he is in the world, what brought him into the world, and what's going on in the world. It clicked to him immediately that they had to stop the machines right when 2 was captured, as he was determined to save 2. Sure, 9 whines, screws up, and ultimately killed 2 accidently in the process, but he did something most of the others wouldn't do, he didn''t just realize his mistakes, he was determined to fix them. Plus, we would all kinda relate to him. Who wouldn't screw up when they're only a day old? He was brought into a world where things most likely don't go well, especially when people don't warn you in the first place (Darn you, 1 > ) In my head I was laughing when he was like "Hey Baby" at 7 while riding on the spinwheel and then tripped XD :3 The Chancellor: What? No, there's nothing I like about his guy. He first makes a deal with the scientist, so the scientist makes this cool machine for him, and he friggin seizes it before it's tested, uses it to make more machines, and ultimately declares war on the planet. He made a mistake, like 9 did, but he didn't take the responsibility for his actions, didn't fix it, and it didn't cost 5 lives, but the entire human race. For me, the chancellor is like Hitler but 100 times worse.

1:...I'm just going to say the Pope outfit. 2: He is what my cousins and I call a "Cool Grandpa". He seems like an easy going guy who isn't angered easily. I mean, the angeriest he ever gets at all is: 1) When he kicks the Cat Beast((counts?)) and 2) When he tells 9 not to put the talisman in. Not to mention that he sacrifises himself for others, like when he saves 5 and saves 9 twice. 3+4: Okay, am I the only one who had to press my hands to my mouth to prevent myself from going "AWWWWWWWW"? They are so curious, so adorable, and so smart that they are favorites to almost everyone! Also, twins are always the favorites in movies/books. 5: As sson as I saw him in the movie, even before I knew his name, my mind declared, 'His name is 5 and he is my favorite character.' And don't know WHY, but he became my favorite character automatically! Also, his death (other than 6's) was really hard on me, because I was 100% sure he was going to live. When the machine grabbed him, I was so sure it was going to be stopped, but I wasn't. 6: He is so much like me it actually is kind of scary. We both like drawing, I sometimes dream about stuff that has to do with the past, and we are both the "mental one of the group". Ans the fact that he excepted his death was so sad! 7: I guess that she's motherly and the strong one at the same time. 8:...magnet? 9: He does care about other people more than himself, I guess .

I love over-analyzing characters! 1- I've always had a strange affinity for jerky characters that secretly care, they just don't want you to know, or they don't know themselves. This is probably my most favorite aspect of 1; just the fact that underneath all of his grumpy, jerkyness, he really does care about the others, he just does it his way. That and his outfit rules. 2- What is there to not like about 2? He's that lovable old grandpa who's sweet and gentle, yet still undeniably awesome. He also has a really brave, heroic soul; he throws himself into harm's way without a second thought to his own safety. He just has this aura around him that makes people happy; it's nearly impossible not to smile when he's around. ;D 3 and 4- Too cute!!! I love how 3 and 4 move around in a synchronized way. They really are more deeply connected to each other than they are to anyone else. Their close relationship and undying curiosity are my favorite aspects of them. They're not afraid to catalogue anything and everything (*cough* 9 *cough), and their childlike ways of going about it are adorable! Not to mention that they're bookworms like me. ;D 5- I love 5's voice. It's so cute, and it fits his personality well. 5 reminds me of myself a lot; he is timid, yet very loyal to his friends. Although it's clear that he's terrified of quite a few things, he still follows his friends into the danger instead of running away as he probably would like to do. I think he gets his bravery from 2. Overall, his kind personality is hard not to love. 6- Ahh, 6. Where to begin? I LOVE 6. He's slightly crazy, very eccentric, spazzy, cute, and he's an artist. All of these things combine to make the perfect favorite character formula for me. I just love oddball characters; the more idiosyncrasies, the better. There's something about strange, crazy people that's just oddly fascinating to me. I also love 6's design; I'm a fan of Tim Burton's films and I love how Tim Burton-ish 6 looks. He's kind of dark, but not so dark it's creepy; he still has a lovable, quirky air to him. And, last but not least, I connect a lot with 6's way of thinking. I love how he sees the world more through art than through his own eyes. I see the world in quite a different way than most people my age, and also love to express my ideas through art. Overall, 6 is AWESOME. 7- I like 7 mainly because I like the stubborn, renegade warrior-type of female character. 7 doesn't just let people walk all over her; she does what she wants. In a lot of ways, she's what I wish I could be. She's not just all fight, though, she does care deeply about those around her. Not to mention, her bird skull helmet is awesome. 8- 8 is the closest to my least favorite character, but only for the fact that he doesn't have to many unique qualities. I like that 8 follows 1 around like a loyal puppy (albeit, a very BIG loyal puppy) and kind of looks up to him in a way. Overall, 8's mean and not too bright, but he's still got that lovable, big-guy air about him. Also, his addiction to magnets is disturbing, but hilarious. 9- 9 is the typical hero figure. Brave, courageous, innovative, kind, etc... Because hero figures are so much alike, I usually don't pay much attention to them, and the same goes for 9. Although he's not my favorite character, I still like 9, he's just not as interesting to me. My favorite aspects about him would probably be his naivete (even though it causes a lot of trouble ) and his design. I love it when a character isn't very well informed about the world that they're living in; there's so much fun potential behind a situation like that. *evil fan grin* I'm not sure why I love his design so much; it's the plainest of all of the stitchpunk designs. Perhaps it's because he was the first one I saw? Anyway, 9 is predictable, but still lovable. Whew! That burned a good hour of my time.

Hm, I'd like to say my input!
1: Pope outfit! I also love his penny being tied to his head instead of being marked like everyone else in some way. I love how he said "You owe me a new cape." I couldn't stop laughing. x3;
2: Why was he the one that had to go first! The poor guy. He seemed like the one person in the "family" that kept everyone together. Once he was gone, it was like everything fell apart emotionally as well as physically.
3 & 4: I love how they communicate with each other and how playful they can be at the same time! The part of the movie with them on the record with 7 won my heart over. It was so cute!
5: Gotta love his screams and his sense of being cautious about everything! I love how even though he lost an optic, he didn't take it too badly and still kept going.
6: His stripes, that hair, the personality...his dialogue. It's no wonder he was the psychic! The adding of his pen fingers was a fantastic idea, how he can always forsee and also draw his visions at the same time.
7: A motherly figure to the twins, as well as being the greatest outside warrior of them all, everything about her fits. She's tough, she's stern, but she's still got a soft spot.
8: Manget. Nuff said.
9: I really enjoyed his personality, being able to protect the ones he cared about, especially sacrificing himself. It was enough for me to say that he really did deserve the title "Savior."

Okay, lets see if I can sum this up without lookin' like a dork... 1.) I fell in love with his hat and movements. The way he moved, used his hands when he talked, and especially his little fits between his words. Like the way he kinda spazed when he said, "...everything we've worked for!" I hearted that so much!xD Plus, it took guts to do what he did at the end. Kudos to him; I know I would have still been hiding behind those sand...bags? Whatever those things were. 2.) Serriously? What's not to love about that guy!? He just looks like the kind old grandpa you wanna run up and hug and he'll give you pepermints! Umm...okay, nevermind. He just seems like a person/doll to brighten up the gloomiest days. 3 and 4.) Not really much about them that intruiged me. However, the blinking lights and their total lack of personal space made me giggle! Totally dig their hoods too!>) 5.) I LOVE HIM FOREVER!!!!!1 His voice is perfect, his eye patch just makes 5 who he is, and have you seen him walk!? Adorableness! I didn't think he was going to be so touchy-grabby in the movie, so that only made me love him more! Every one of his lines in the movie were pure gold! And his screams; I'm really currious to see what was going on in that broadcasting room when JCR was doing all that screaming!xD I really hope to get some footage of Shane doubled over laughing as John screams his head off! Plus, his facial expressions. Every one of them were utter cuteness!<3 Okay, I'm stopping now. 6.) He's an artist. I can relate to him. I love the way he has flaw in his character, both mentally and physically. Kinda gives him wabbi-sabbi. His death scene added some brownie points, too. Not many people can look death in the face and be so calm about it. 7.) She was pretty much my least favorite character, but there were still a few things she had going. Her gheto lips, for example, that you could sometimes make out when she talked!xD Loved that little detail! And I guess the fact that she was so white, while all the others were a dirtied up brown. 8.) Dang, that guy was just kick ass! I loved his voice and tough-guy attitute. The fact that he went a good ways to protect those OTHER than 1 at times certianly was nice. 9.) Eh, he got the other five of them killed. Sorry, but I can never forgive the guy for running out of the room and not looking in his box, which would spared 5.....oh, and 1, 2, 6, and 8. But, his zipper really caught my ADD attention! Plus his nieve-ness had it's cute moments. *fingers hurt*

1) He's so grumpy it's hilarious. 2) I love his candle-hat. 3 and 4) They can TALK TO EACH OTHER by BLINKING. 5) He's like a freaking puppy. So loyal, so depressing when he's sad. 6) He's stripy. And his personality is oh so adorable. 7) She's exactly the sort of person I would want to be if I were less of a coward. 8) He looks very soft and squishy. 9) ....Um, I really actually don't like 9 very much. He was kind of an idiot.

Hmmm... *cracks knuckles and waggles fingers anxiously* What DID I like most about the characters?
Well, for some reason, 1 reminds me just a little of my dad- because 1 is a pretty angry person through most of the film. My dad doesn't get called 'The Growly Man' for nothing! The other things I like about 1 were his voice (Yep, gotta love Christopher Plummer), and his 'pope doll' outfit. Lol, my friend actually associated him with a magician. He also has some really strong lines- 'Sometimes, one must be sacrificed' really got to me.
I loved 2. A lot. I haven't really told anyone on here because it isn't really a big deal, but I've never had a grandfather- one I never knew and the other wasn't even my grandfather anyway, besides, he scared me. And neither of them were sweet or kindly, either. 2 has both of those qualities; and I got attached to him, despite the short time he spent on screen. Again, I loved the voice choice (Martin Landau just... fitted.), and I think his hat is just too cool.
3 and 4 are a bit like me. I'm quiet, I'm quirky, and I like to read a lot. I can be a personal space invader, too- I like hugs and walking really close to my friends. So, naturally, I liked 3 and 4 because I found I could relate to them. And I'm sure that people would agree with me when I say that they are just too cute.
5... oh 5... I'd have to say that he's my favourite. I can't really explain it, but there's always been something about 5 that just appeals to me. I liked that he provided comedic relief for the film; so I guess I like him being voiced by John C. Reilly. I liked his quick thinking and ingenuity- though he still obviously thinks of his mentor as the better mechanic, his rescourcefulness is a force to be reckoned with. That quality makes me wish I could be more like 5- as a lot of you would have noticed I have my dumb moments... a lot more than I would like to have. Another trait 5 adopts that I like is his confidence- there was such development in his character throughout the film; again, I wish I was more like 5. Lastly, I think he's just adorable. (Jeez, I used 'like' waaaay too many times.)
6- Who DOESN'T like the crazy one that can see the future? The only downside there is to 6 is that we don't really see a lot of him, so I don't have much to go by. Of course, I think he's just kawaii. Hmmm... Well, again, I found I could relate a bit to him- with his own quirks, and the fact that he hummed while he worked in the first scene that we saw him (I like to sing... ok, that's probably a really superficial comparison but just bear with me). He also seems really socially awkward (again, I compare myself to him). The choice of Crispin Glover as his voice actor must have been really well thought through- because Glover was a PERFECT choice. Glover is probably (IMO, so I apologise if I'm severly wrong!) most famous for playing characters that are a little strange (whether they are just awkward like George McFly, or plain creepy, like... well, The Creepy Thin Man), so, 6 and Glover just fit together. I wouldn't have 6 any other way.
7. Well, 7 is just BADASS. What I like about 7 is that she doesn't give a damn about what anyone thinks of her, but at the same time, she cares deeply for others. Another thing about 7 that I found appealing was that she wasn't a total Mary Sue, like a lot of characters these days *coughcoughBELLASWAN!coughcough*, and wasn't totally pathetic. She's a strong, independent woman, and she knows it. Granted, she did get a little too attached to 9 at the end, but that might have had something to do with the fact that she just lost like, everyone she knew. (Also, I'm a 7/9 shipper, so I didn't mind so much)
8... Ok, I didn't really like 8 so much. He just seemed like the predictable dumb bouncer guy- though the 'sub-what?' and magnet scene made me laugh. I guess I liked how at the end he seemed a lot more like a gentle giant.
Lucky last is 9. Well, apart from the fact that he's a total NOOB, I think he was pretty cool. I like the relationship that he had with 5- bromance FTW! I like how he just kept going, no matter what happened, and his determination. We are so unlike in that respect, it's not funny. For example, give us the same Math problem- I'll give up after the first try if I got it wrong, but 9 would keep doing it over and over again until he got it right, and understood it. Another appealing trait he has is his faith- he listened to 6 when nobody else would, and he believed in 6. If he didn't, well, they would have all died, probably.
Wow- long post is long.

Here we go. WARNING: THERE BE SPOILERS HERE. AND IT'S FRIGGIN' LONG.
1 - The first time I saw this movie, I hated 1. There was... really nothing I could pull away from his character, I just hated him that much for causing everyone so much pain. Second time around, after reading stuff on 9 Forums, I came away liking him much more. While I love a lot about this guy I gotta say his movements are actually what really get me. His personality, his voice, the very subtle changes in his mentality right up to end of the movie all come through his physical actions. He has such dramatic yet regal movements, like a Shakespearean actor.
2 - God where do I begin with this guy. He's like, the definition of 'sweet old Grandpa'. If you looked it up in a dictionary, his picture would be right there. But if I had to say anything about him, it would have to be his cheerfulness. Let's face it. Their lives suck. They constantly live in fear (half the Machines, half from 1), hiding out in a dead world with no real hope of doing anything but surviving. But this brilliant guy takes all the dead world has to offer and makes it into something worth smiling about! His pure, selfless optimism extends to everyone, and when it came time for him to die, I wanted to cry in the corner.
3 and 4 - CUTE. FRIGGIN' CUTE. This movie is so dark that they really needed little characters like the Twins to keep everyone from falling into depression. Inquisitive, helpful, and FRIGGIN' ADORABLE. SERIOUSLY. These guys are some of the cutest little things I've ever seen, right down to their little 'ferret runs', their tendencies to violate personal space (poor n00b), and that childish air they have about them.
5 - Like 1, the first time I saw the movie, 5 didn't really stick with me. *hides in a corner so she is not stoned to death* HOWEVER! Second time round, I wanted to curl up in a sock drawer and sleep for days after what happened to him. His... EVERYTHING made me love him. But, if anything, his meekness was what appealed to me the most. I'm a very timid soul, and seeing this poor guy being walked on much stronger willed people really tugged at my heartstrings.
6 - EVERYTHING. 'NUFF SAID.
...OK, I lied. Not about the EVERYTHING, cause that's still true. 6... where do I start. He's the misunderstood, eccentric, twitchy, wise-beyond-his-years artist who see's horrific images of the future. His design is incredible, with so much symbolism and thought going into him that it's hard NOT to like him. And his voice... so hoarse, so breathy, and while still young, manages to pull of that inherent strangeness. And I just love him to pieces, right up to his death. It was nothing shot of magnificent. He is definitely my favorite character EVER. I could go on for hours about how wonderful a little character he is, but I'll spare you. All I will say... NEEDED MORE FRIGGIN' SCREENTIME. REALLY.
7 - Oddly enough, it was her motherly side I liked most. She's strong, yeah. She's independent, yup. She's a warrior, yes, and she's a damn fine one at that. But unlike 8, who just protects them physically (and more often than not damages them emotionally), 7 defends their bodies and their hearts. She is obviously a caring figure for the Twins, and there a connection is hinted at when 6 dies (she looks away, as if she can't bear to see it happen). Now-a-days, it's pretty easy to find a bad-ass warrior girl in a movie. But 7 is able to be both the strong fighter and the caring mother at the same time.
8 - Another 1 situation. I really hated this guy for how mean he was to everyone (and, NO ONE FRIGGIN' STEPS ON 6S DRAWING. NO ONE). But second time around, he really struck me as being a much deeper character, and that emotional depth is what I love about him. He's a big scaredy cat but is also genuinely brave in certain situations. He's a bully, but he also shows a selfless attachment to 1, comforting him when the Cathedral burns down. Just... yeah. There is more to 8 than meets the eye.
9 - FFFFFFF. FRIGGIN' N00B. I wanna punch you in the face so badly it isn't even funny-
...But then I want to give you a big hug and a cookie. It's 9s selflessness is medal worthy. I mean, really! Let's take a look at this guys first day of life - Heeeee wakes up in a strange dark world, finds and befriends another of his kind, gets said kind captured by horrific beast, meets with more of his kind and is promptly yelled at by a Pope-Doll, wanders around the Emptiness looking for lost friend, is attacked and nearly eaten by horrific beast, frees said friend and has a joyful reunion and then PROMPTLY GETS THAT FRIEND KILLED FOR HIS COMPLETE IDIOCY.
I mean. REALLY. 9 has a really crappy time of things! But, against all the odds and his own tremendous failure, 9 manages to do what he was meant to do - save them. He's incredibly strong-willed, always searching for something better. And I love the little n00b for it.
The Scientist - His determination. Hands down. Let's face it, the Scientist is pretty much the cause of this entire mess. He is, quite literally, the harbinger of doom. But instead of curling up in a corner and angsting about it, he does something to try and fix the problem. A very admirable thing to do.
The Fabrication Machine - Its personality. I honestly can't buy that it's just a soulless machine. It has a wide range of emotions, from cold determination (as it pursues 9 and 5) to raging fury (when it sees that the Winged beast is dead, when it chases the Stitchpunks over the bridge), to something almost sad (when it tries to keep the Chancellors guards from taking the Scientist away). I really love how Mr. Fab actually sparks whenever it's angry. Much love for this Antagonist.
