The fact that it made budget is making me a VERY happy fangirl, even if never did get a chance to see it in theaters. Viva la DVD for Christmas!

This is good news!!
Hopefully this will mean a prequel/sequel or some further development into the world later in the future. I'm really happy for Shane as a first-time director -- hopefully this will mean we'll see more of his work, and more depth into 9. (It'd be nice to get some more of our questions answered)
Go Shane! (And go 9, of course!)

That's wonderful news! I was slightly afraid it wouldn't, but I'm glad it made the budget!

(victory air punch) Yes!
In all honestly, this is better news than merchandising. ...Yes, even better than plushies. It means that Shane can now point at "9" and say that it was an "official" success (yes, *we* know it was a success all along, but now he's got something to prove it to the uninitiated).
I'm quite happy. Quite happy indeed.
Now let's get that DVD out so everyone will know it's a cult classic, too. ;D

Whoa, I just checked the numbers again, and 9 is just short of making budget here alone! It's currently grossed nearly 40 million worldwide and 29.4 million in the states. Whoo hoo!

Wahoo! GO SHANE! I'm so happy for him! He's a very talented, aspiring, young animator/director and having his 1st feature-length film do very well is excellent for a newbie! I'm sure he was really worried at making his budget due to the large amount of money it ended up costing to make 9! Wasn't it like 30 million dollars or something? Wow! But yes! Now the sequel! Or prequel! Whatever! Just give us more 9 Shane!!! I can't wait for it to come to DVD!!!

ya know, on Monday (last week) I went on to USA Today's website & looked at the top bix office films & 9 was making more money then Jennifer's Body (which I thought was interesting, because it's easier to market a film with Megan Fox to people, rather then something that no one has seen before, but maybe that's why it did better )

It hasn't been doing very well at all, however.

I think what kind kept it from making budget this long was its limited release. Not to mention that it will be nearly a year before 9 is released in some places like Australia-I'm sorry, welcomehome! Amen to that! But still, well done to Shane and the team!
