Okay I have been following 9 closely In the box office and it was doing really badly compared to other movies. Mainly because the critics have a bar up their butts going LOL ITS NOT A NORMAL TIM BURTON MOVIE! When Tim Burton was one of 4 producers and Shane Acker was the one that designed everything. However its offical 9 made budget! admin.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=9.htmworld wide 9 made budget if you go just by America it didn't but worldwide it Made budget so that means its doing well. I'm soo happy

I think what kind kept it from making budget this long was its limited release. Not to mention that it will be nearly a year before 9 is released in some places like Australia-I'm sorry, welcomehome!

Oh, thank god. I actually got really worried when I was looking at the domestic revenue, but I totally forgot to consider the foreign, too. I'm glad they made money off the movie. The movie wasn't perfect, but it deserved something.

Yay! ^-^ I haven't checked the box office yet, so I had no idea what it was earning, but either way this is great news! Hopefully it should make more profit in other countries when it's released there, too. Now they just need to hurry up and release it here and everywhere else!

WHOOOO HOOOO!!! GO 9! That's awesome! Maybe it means they'll be a sequel! As Al said earlier... some sequels are approved before the first movie even comes out. <.< So money dosen't have much to do with it, in some cases. It certainly HELPS, though. Which is why we have crap like Ige Age 3 and Cinderella Goes to Africa, and whatever the hell. XD

the hell Cinderella goes to Africa? What is that the movie Disney didn't want you to see, their princess getting her butt chased by a lion?

Oh, how exciting! I'm glad to hear it did well in foreign markets.
It was unfortunately a victim of the time of its release just as much as any other defining factor. While a clever date, 9/9/09 also happened to fall the weekend before four major blockbuster new releases were set to jump into theaters.
Perhaps knowing it made budget and turned a slight profit will help in the future... especially for those of us who would like to see merchandise of other sorts, if not some webisodes chronicling previous events or the like.

That's a relief. People these days have such bad taste; I was a tad worried that it wouldn't get the recognition it deserved. Learning that 9 was a box office survivor makes me feel a little more optimistic about the future of animated media. ^^
