So would you guys agree with me in the fact that the characters are not as grossly underdeveloped as some believe on first viewing? maybe 9 is the movie that becomes a richer experience the more times you watch it? Oh, I definitely agree. The first time watching it, I was really disappointed with how underdeveloped most of the characters were. Second time watching it, I was like "... They have tons of character, why the hell did I think differently the first time!?" I guess it's the smallest details in the characters that you need to look for before really getting the feel of their character. Second time around, I was much more pleased with all of the ragdolls, even 7 gained some brownie points (who on my first viewing I disliked the most). This is one of those movies where you have to watch it more than once to really get a feel for it. The first viewing felt fast because there's so much detail to take in at once (both the characters AND backgrounds are very beautiful, and it's just too much information for your eyes and ears to take in at once). My second viewing, everything felt perfect, the story moved much more smoothly and didn't feel rushed or short. It's quite amazing how much of a difference watching it more than once will change your perception of it.

I actually noticed something else, that I forgot to post... When 8 is about to be soul-sucked, he actually growls at the fab machine, as if to say "screw you". I never noticed that the first time I watched the movie, and it actually made me feel a little sadder about his death. I thought he did that to try and scare the machine out of letting him go, because all his life he's gotten things based on being bigger, meaner, and scarier then everyone else. So his first reaction is a scare tatic. And when that failed, well... it was just really sad. Poor lug was all alone... Anyways, what I noticed is that when 4 projects images, it drains a lot out of her, and she needs 3 to hold her steady or else she would fall (WHICH IS CUTE). Makes me wonder what else the twins couldn't do without each other?

Wow, reading through all these, i'm really starting to like these Forums already!
One thing I caught was this:
When 9 was holding up the Talisman to kill the BRAIN, there were 6 large objects pulled into the Talisman.. but there were only 5 Soul Pieces in the Machine. Could the 6th one be something else? Could it be the Intelligence that the Scientist put in? There were only 9 Soul Fragments; plus, the Scientist said that the BRAIN had no soul...
What could that have been?

I just watched "9 meets the Twins" again...
Did anyone else notice the human skull on one of the bookshelves?!
Also, for the first part of the movie, 5 seems to ring his hands together a lot. Nervous habit, perhaps?

Yeah, I noticed 5 would ring his hands together as well... Especially when 1 was yelling at him. XD He couldn't even look 1 in the eyes, during one scene.

When I remember the movie, 5's change was VERY SLOW but extremely noticeable by the end.
At first he was extremely timid and couldn't stand up to anyone. As the movie goes on we see him grow into someone who stands up for himself and doesn't follow orders out of fear anymore. By the end he doesn't ring his hands or slouch (much) anymore. Looking at scenes in the trailers, you can tell when the scenes with 5 take place simply because of how he is standing if you look closely enough.

Since we're on the topic, I noticed how 5 seemed to cling to 9 alot. To me, I thought it got really bad right after 2 died. But it was still pretty bad from the beginning (not that I'm complaining!xD) Replacement? Just a thought.

Yeah, actually, I think that's how it is. 9 was the last person to see 2, and maybe something about 9 just... reminded him of his mentor. Perhaps the way 9 talked reminded him. They were both very nice both (Well, 9 tried to be nice, but had too much stupid). That, and 9 was the only person there to hold onto. Everyone else was the cause of his fear.
5 would make for a cute OCD.

What could that have been? I'm fairly sure the sixth was from the Fabrication Machine itself. Also, on the topic of things we picked up on multiple viewings...I admit I never noticed 6's eyes were actually two different sizes until I really looked long and hard at pictures of him. I used to think it was camera angles, but the Scientist really did give him different-sized eyes. And he wonders why 6 was so odd? XD

I picked that up almost right away.. but I pay super attention to physical detail so... During the Winged Beats scene, when 9 pulls up that piece of roof to blind the metal beast, 1 has the weirdest look of "what the hells are you doing?" In the same scene, I just noticed that 5 put out a hand to stop 6 when they were running toward 8 after he fell.

XD I'm seeing the movie a third time tonight... I'm half-tempted to bring a notepad. I ponder what level of geek-dom I'm at now... Probably over 9000.

I noticed two more things on my second viewing (which I recall right now).
One, when 5, 7, and 9 are trying to run away from the fabrication machine, there's this one scene where they are all huddled in a group hiding, trying to find a way out. I was watching 7, and the way she flipped her skullmet back with a look of "OH SHIT" on her face, it was priceless. XD
Also, when the spider things were crawling around, I noticed they were crawling all over 8's dead body and I'm like "OMFG disturbing. D8" It wouldn't be that disturbing if it was just a limp ragdoll, but to know that the thing once had life and... ew... just ew... The look on his face. x___x

XD Is that at the beginning of the movie, when 7 puts her weapon into the machine gears to distract the fab?? Because I would love to see that face when I go see the movie tonight. XD
