Soldiers of the Wasteland, by Dragonforce :'D Heck, this could even fit the Hell's Mouth roleplay, especially the last part which I underlined And the part I put in bold fits the movie extremely well! Crossing battles savage seas towards the mountains high Forest plains of wilderness we're striking out tonight On towards our destiny we travel far and wide Journey through the darkenss as your hearts refuse to die
In the flames of hell we fire at will the fires of doom has come With the forces of the blackest knights they're staring at the sun Far across the distant plains of ice we're searching for the sword When the time has come for the battle now we follow with the horde
We will ride with fire burning hot towards the night sky In the land of long ago forever in our souls Fly on wings of shining steel are burning so bright In ancient lands of warriors we're riding on again
Burning fires burning lives on the long distant roads Through the lost mountains endless so far away from home Warrior soldiers forever we fought long ago We're all lost in the darkness so far away from home
Fallen soldiers taste the steel of death the daylight dawning Sun will shine upon the lives of burning hearts of ice As you break through the boundaries of life this feeling of despair And they die in their sleep for the world that will not care You feel lost in this labyrinth of pain this sickening dismay There's a voice inside that's calling another wasted day
Can't you see the history the suffocating madness In the land of fallen souls there's nowhere left no place to go I have traveled far and wide across the wasteland Still searching for the answers for the right to understand
Burning fires burning lives on the long distant roads...
Riding through the starlight and smashing the boundaries as hellfire falls from the sky A shadow of pain will arise from the ashes of those fallen ones who have died Our only master with fire and fury of hell will see his bidding done Blasting from high as the battle unfolds to the gates of the city we come

Whenever I draw 9 fanarts, I listen to this song 8'D
Zankoku na Tenshi no TE-ZE - Cruel Angel Thesis (Neon Genesis Evangelion opening song)
Young boy, like a cruel angel's thesis, Live up to be a legend...
Even though clear blue winds Beat on the door of my heart, You just smile, looking straight at me Too involved in yearning for Something to hold on The innocent eyes still no nothing of fate yet.
But someday you will notice On those shoulders of your There are strong wings To guide you to the far future.
A cruel angel's thesis Will someday fly high from the window If memories are betrayed by The overflowing, burning pathos (emotions). Young boy, shine like a legend, Holding the sky in your arms.
The cradle of love that sleeps within me There will be a morning that A servant of dreams will come for you. The moonlight shines on your thin neckline. I'd stop time in this world And lock it away for myself, but...
If there is any meaning In the fate that pulled us together, Then I am, yes, the Bible That teaches you of freedom.
A cruel angel's thesis And then sorrow comes forth When the shapes of the dreams you hold in your arms Come to life within you. Young boy, who shines brighter than anyone else, Rise to become a legend.
People weave together love to create history And so I live on, Unable to become a goddess...
A cruel angel's thesis Will someday fly high from the window If memories are betrayed by The overflowing, burning pathos (feelings). Young boy, shine like a legend, Holding the sky in your arms.

My brother got this song for our iPod a little while back, and the first time I heard it, it automatically reminded me of the movie:
Wake up, The house is on fire And the cat's caught in the dryer Philosophy's a liar when Your home is your headstone "Icon" is the last chance for hope When there's no such thing as heroes Your faith lies in the ditch that You dug yourself in
Last chance to piss it all away Nothing but hell to pay When the lights are going down
Deadbeat Holiday - celebrate your own decay There's a vacant sign that's hanging high On a noose over your home
Deadbeat Holiday - get on your knees and pray There's a vacant sign that's hanging high But at least you're not alone Christmas lights in the middle of August Grudges come back to haunt us Your oldest allies are your long lost enemies Grounded in a duplex to find that You're living on a landmine Vacation hotspots is a cemetery drive
Last chance to piss it all away Nothing but hell to pay When the lights are going down
Deadbeat Holiday - celebrate your own decay There's a vacant sign that's hanging high On a noose over your home
Deadbeat Holiday - get on your knees and pray There's a vacant sign that's hanging high But at least you're not alone
Last chance to piss it all away Nothing but hell to pay when all you Want to do is...not to....give up......

I got an immediate pre-movie war vibe from this...

Aside from the title, I thought this could have easily played during some of the action scenes in the movie. XD

Within Temptation's "What Have You Done?" comes in mind for...well, for several characters in this movie. Just ignore the doomed love part XD Scientist vs. Chancellor, 9 vs. 1, Scientist vs. Mr. Fab, 9 vs. Mr. Fab, 7 vs. 1, etc. Also, um, ignore the fact that this video is an AMV and that it has talking in the beginning. It was the best one I could find with the extended version of the song, which is honestly the best version xD *hides*
And "Stand My Ground", also by Within Temptation. Again, for several characters and scenes, but really the whole movie in general.
And last but not least, "Inside the Fire" by Disturbed. Just listen to it. You shall see why.

This song reminds me a lot of the premise of 9 - mostly the part of the plot that deals with awakening the big, bad Fabrication Machine and having no idea how to fight back, and knowing that it's far too dangerous to ignore it and try to keep living like they did - not only that, but it's trying to find and destroy them. Also the lyrics actually mention a 'beast', and the whole line that goes along with it is almost eerily fitting. I went and italicized / underlined it so it's a little easier to find.
And it's effing Abney Park. They have this wonderfully dark feel to a lot of their work that I can connect with the 9 'verse. If I had the proper know-how / computer programs, I'd so try and make a 9 music video using this song.
Too Far to Turn Back We've come too far to turn back It's way too dark to unpack We'd stop right here but we're slipping This ground is loose, we're not gripping
We're way in over our heads, it seems And this place is coming apart at the seams We can't stop or control our direction The further we go, the less protection
Suddenly the beast takes notice Unexpectedly we've earned his focus We got here by a naive assumption Our confidence was a false presumption
We're way in over our heads, it seems And this place is coming apart at the seams We can't stop or control our direction The further we go, the less protection
We've come too far to turn back It's way too dark to unpack We'd stop right here but we're slipping This ground is loose, we're not gripping
We're way in over our heads, it seems And this place is coming apart at the seams We can't stop or control our direction The further we go, the less protection
We've come too far We've come too far It's way too dark It's way too dark We've come too far We've come too far Turn back turn back turn back turn back Turn back turn back turn back turn back...

I probably have the weirdest thing to relate 9 to. The overture to Phantom of the Opera....don't ask me why, it just sound haunting and triumphant, why is what 9 is to me ^^;

This song reminds me a lot of 6. The creepy vibe from the song is perfect, and especially the lyrics "Hands clawing splinters from the ceiling and floor, shrieking like the witches 'till his stitches are sore."

Not sure if this one's already been mentioned (too lazy to look back through the thread) but Don McLean's song Vincent always reminds me of 6.
I know it's about Vincent van Gogh, but the lines I've put in bold always scream 6.
Starry, starry night. Paint your palette blue and grey, Look out on a summer's day, With eyes that know the darkness in my soul. Shadows on the hills, Sketch the trees and the daffodils, Catch the breeze and the winter chills, In colors on the snowy linen land.
Now I understand what you tried to say to me, How you suffered for your sanity, How you tried to set them free. They would not listen, they did not know how. Perhaps they'll listen now.
Starry, starry night. Flaming flowers that brightly blaze, Swirling clouds in violet haze, Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue. Colors changing hue, morning field of amber grain, Weathered faces lined in pain, Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.
Now I understand what you tried to say to me, How you suffered for your sanity, How you tried to set them free. They would not listen, they did not know how. Perhaps they'll listen now.
For they could not love you, But still your love was true. And when no hope was left in sight On that starry, starry night, You took your life, as lovers often do. But I could have told you, Vincent, This world was never meant for one As beautiful as you.
Starry, starry night. Portraits hung in empty halls, Frameless head on nameless walls, With eyes that watch the world and can't forget. Like the strangers that you've met, The ragged men in the ragged clothes, The silver thorn of bloody rose, Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.
Now I think I know what you tried to say to me, How you suffered for your sanity, How you tried to set them free. They would not listen, they're not listening still. Perhaps they never will...

Mild thread revive GO! XD
I think the chorus really fits the Scientist -- the world was ending, of course, and the bitter idea of "let's see how far we've come" as well.

This song seem to make of me think of the movie, since the lyrics seem to give off a post apocalyptic feel, in yet it can also apply some of the character relationships.

Omg so many remind me of 9! "Warrior" by Disturbed, is kind of 7's theme song to me. "New Divide" by Linkin Park "Land of Confusion" by Disturbed (Yes, I know they remade it...this is the only version I listen to) "Another Way to Die" by Distrubed "This is War" by 30 Seconds to Mars "Vox Populi" by 30 Seconds to Mars oh, and "Welcome Home" by Coheed and Cambria of course!! It's scary how many songs by Disturbed and 30 Seconds to Mars could be applied to 9!
