Will this be another "Hot Topic" fad?

I know how Hot Topic gets when it comes to anything to do with Tim Burton [poor Shane Acker].

LOL I'm not sure if it'll be a Hot Topic fad, per se...but there probably will be a ton of merchandise.
(I mean, a lot of people were saying Coraline would be another Hot Topic fad. I don't know about you, but I haven't see many things from Hot Topic concerning Coraline.)

I will be extremely pleased if they make little stuffed keychains, however. If there was a fad, those would make it worth it!

As much as I'm PRAYING it won't be, I also have a hunch. Tim Burton's name + anything 'dark' = prime pickings for Hot Topic merchandise.

Of course, this will probably mean I'll have to pick up a 9 t-shirt or something. 'Cause I'm a sad person like that. XD

I've only gone into a Hot Topic once, as they don't exist in Canada, but I have paid the website a visit on a number of occasions because I was curious to see what kind of stuff they had. Yeah, I can see 9 merchandise popping up in these stores, and I dunno if I'd go for any of it.. but I must say, a tee shirt would be pretty snazzy!

I check in Hot Topic everytime I go to the mall, especially since it's August now. I go to Hot Topic mainly for movie/vintage(ish) stuff. I would definitely get a shirt (especially if they make shirts that look like the dolls themselves with their number on the back).

Outside of Hot Topic though I can't see any other place that would sell 9 merchandise (of decent quality, at least). Hot Topic's pretty good at covering the goth hot new movies.

I asked a worker at Hot Topic on Saturday.

She said that a month to 2 weeks of the movie's showing they get stuff. She also said anything with Burton they almost always get.
I can see it happening.

In a way I'm hoping Hot Topic does sell stuff, because where else would I get some awesome merchandise? But at the same time I'm hoping it doesn't become a 'fad' like The Nightmare Before Christmas or The Joker became. You know, where people just like the merchandise simply because it's 'dark' even if they don't give a crap about the movie or know anything about it. I know at my school I've seen like a gang of people who wear Joker and TNBC shirts and I swear some of those people haven't even seen the movie! It's almost become a brand name or something to them. Like Joker or TNBC automatically = emo and gothic. I do not want 9 to turn out like that. As a matter of fact, I'd go on strike if it did! D< lol

I'm not sure. Fanbrats go for anything with Burton's name on it, but 9 doesn't seem very 'marketable' to me (if that makes any sense).

But there are already going to be action figures and sneakers, probably t-shirts and stuff. Oh well- more swag for us!

I'll feel very left out if it does become a fad. There's no Hot Topic where I live...

I've found some pretty awesome stuff at Hot Topic, so I'd totally buy 9 merchandise if it was available.
