Well, I know that I'm a little late to jump on the creation day wishing wagon, so I'll go back to what y'all were talking about before. I do agree Nine likely made his big mistake because he was younger. While the stichpunks don't appear to really age (though I'd argue for One and Two aging despite the official site), Nine has a younger mentality because he was just created. The others would not make such a mistake because they've lived longer and are cautious. Two's injuries and Seven's scar are evidence of the stitchpunks' own over-ambition. I also like the idea that Nine is simply...human. We as humans make mistakes all the time, some of them terrible. Say, for example, you're playing around with a friend skiing and give him too hard of a shove, not realizing that you've sent him hurling downhill when his ski shoes weren't strapped on properly, and in falling incorrectly, he breaks a leg. You don't know why you did something like that and you'll feel guilt about it forever after. And no, that did not happen to me. I just thought that scenario up. I did have a similar feeling of guilt when I was two and I accidentally killed my grandma's pet bird. I tried to pick him up out of his cage, but I actually gave the poor thing a heart attack. To this day I think of the innocent life I ended, even if I know I didn't mean to do it.

(I say we need more pages for this little guy. ) So, to go along with Snowflake, I'll state again, like I have many times before. It pretty much lifts the burden off your shoulders when you admit your fault, but it takes it even further to respect when you try to fix what you did. It also takes courage, and bravery to admit you did something wrong, let alone try and change it. ^^ I feel like a broken record sometimes. XD

It's human nature to make mistakes. Whether your a flesh meatbag or a burlap human'd soul doll.

... *claps* Julia, you have earned an exalt, because you summed up everything I feel in just two sentences.

LOL a grand way of putting it. XD He messed up, and he knew it. But I can't hate him, he was only alive for 48 hours. o.O;

So, quick question, does anyone consider 9 when he saved 7 to be him Taking a Level In Badass?
For me, it was close, but it's just not as badass as what he COULD have done, that is, made a proportionately built Paddlesaw and just gone to town on the Seamstress and those little spiderbots. XD Probably would've taken as much time as his actual plan if you put it through a montage. ^^

Personally, if I had the person I was going to save, and was on a time limit because I told the people outside to blow the factory up if I took too long... yeah, I would be leaving. XD But that's just me.

I'm talking about how he saved her though, not what he did AFTER he got her all untied.
I just felt a distinct lack of the great communicator being used. [/jk] ^^

Oh, my bad!
Um... that's one of my favorite scenes with him, personally, so I can't say I would change it much. Maybe have him go "oh shit oh shit oh shit" as the seamstress was chasing after him. I think that would be funny. XD

Come to think of it, the whole thing could be a crowning moment of funny if you replaced the music in the shots where he's setting up the trap with music from MacGyver or The A-Team and nothing else. It just seems like one of those classic montages of making deadly, live saving devices out of household materials. XD

So, quick question, does anyone consider 9 when he saved 7 to be him Taking a Level In Badass? Kinda. Because on the one hand, it really took some stones to waltz his tiny little butt in there unarmed and take on the Seamstress. But on the other, he was pretty brave right from the beginning, and doesn't really defeat her in combat anyway; he uses his wits to outsmart her. So I'm gonna say, even though it was very heroic, it wasn't a big departure from his character up until that point. Like, say, a paddlesaw might be. :D Um... that's one of my favorite scenes with him, personally, so I can't say I would change it much. Maybe have him go "oh shit oh shit oh shit" as the seamstress was chasing after him. I think that would be funny. XD I... think you just found the one thing that could have made that scene better. XD

So, quick question, does anyone consider 9 when he saved 7 to be him Taking a Level In Badass? Heh. Yeah. >3 Like Red said, it takes bravery to go into a Factory that you KNOW is gonna be blown up to go in and save 8 and 7~ oO Though him taking on all those spider beasts with a paddlesaw would be EPIC. XDD

Ah, I see. ^^ yeah, I consider it one myself, though not as much as MacGyvering something up and slicing seamstress into 4 equal chunks before it knew it was dead. XDDD
Either way, I can see a paddlesaw-esque weapon in 9's future after the end of the movie. if something should up and wounded or killed 7.
