I loved 9's line of thinking, how he believed that he had to set things right because he was the one who screwed everything up. That just made him very endearing to me, since he was willing to take responsibility and die for his mistakes.
I still LOVE to tease him though. XD

Oh, hell ya he's fun to tease... I actually love to picture him like Fry from Futurama, dumb but high functioning and with a heart of gold. XDD

I believe ALL of the stitchpunks are fun to tease, including 7. XD But yes, 9 is extremely fun to tease, mostly cuz he's the one who screwed up by plugging the Talisman into the Fabrication Machine. As a very good reviewer of movies once said: "You can't have the savior cause the problem, that's just counter productive!" I salute you, funny movie reviewer. *salutes* Ah, 9, we all love you, but you fucked up big time, so we get the honor of teasing you to death. I did like that he was willing to die for his mistakes, as Bane said above. He screwed up, and then he tried to fix it, which is exactly what he should have done instead of just letting Mr. Fab reak havoc over the remaining stitchpunks. 9's not my favorite character, but just the fact that he was willing to clean up his own mess, no matter how large it became, kept him from the extreme bottom of my list. ^ Exactly And frankly, he's a bit of a dork. So I can't hate him for that fact alone.

Ah yes, Anna, he is quite the dork. XDD
But as Taylor out it above, I did like how he took responsibility for his own mistakes. It takes a certain sort of brave for a person to be able to that. And he not only admitted that it was fault, but he actually tried to do something about it.
He tried to fix it. ^^ Sure, he may have killed 5 of his friends in the process, but hey, he got it done, right? XD

Well, I don't really blame him for the others deaths in the film... True, he had a major hand in 2's, but all the events AFTER that were somewhat out of his control. But he did try. XD

Guys... people might have noticed this before, but it JUST occurred to me in the form of a brain-blast.
You know how little developing kids will get that toy that requires them to fit blocks, circles, triangles and such-like through the corresponding openings to teach them about shapes? I just realized... a newborn 9, given the Talisman, examining it, and finding the corresponding shape on the Machine...
...Jeez. Maybe I'm slow, maybe I'm completely wrong, maybe I'm late to that line of thought, but that just makes me feel worse for 9. He really WAS like a little kid in the beginning.

Snowi, the thought's never occurred to me, but now that you mention it, it's painfully adorable/saddening. The poor guy's so . . . >< How to put it? Really like a child.

Oh my Gosh. . . >< Thats so sad. He's so innocent, and all he wanted to do was prove that he could do something right. . .
The Scientist even mentioned in his journal that he tried a small test on each of the Stitchies to make sure that they had common sense, and I guess since 9 missed out on that. . . .Well, you know.
That is so sadly innocent though. Good thinking Snowi~! 8o

Aw, that line of thought makes me feel bad for the little newbie. I'd always looked at it as the way kids just have this weird desire to stick tweezers in a light socket before they learn not to, but your idea is much more innocent.
Don't feel too bad for just now thinking that, Snowi. Your realization is at least interesting. I only just realized this week that 9 is the only symmetrically balanced doll by design. Considering I've been studying this stuff like crazy (pretty much a self-taught artist) I can't believe I didn't notice before. All the other characters, no matter how neat and tidy they first appear, have something that upsets their symmetry just a bit, like the thumbs at the back of 3 and 4, and the positioning of their numbers on their fronts. But 9 is aesthetically perfect, he has no patches of fabric on him, zipper is straight down the middle, he has both eyes. The scientist took care of his design.

Snowi... You have made me want to give 9 MORE hugs than I already did. D8
Clover has a point. He didn't really get to experience.... ANYTHING before that. So, naturally... he did what was natural to someone.
