Wait this is somewhat off topic but the voice box came from a doll so wouldn't he sound like a little girl doll?
Oh and I voted Yay for voices because then we wouldn't even know what The Source is And if everyone was mute then the twins would lose there specialty.

Well...the short was good, but the movie was a lot better. Both ending made me cried anyway, but the movie was a lot better then I thought it would be (since I watch about over 100 times oline).

I voted Yay....I dunno, I'm just obsessed with 9 and Elijah Wood. X3 And I agree, mute folks for 80 min? Exnay! It tantalizes me, almost like it NEEDS to have a voice from the stitchies. I'm glad they gave em voices in the movie. Also, there are more clear emotions in the characters in the movie than in the short. The short, well the emotions didn't seem very complex....but the movie was a bit more detailed, and better looking emotions on their faces. I don't know but....did they have the stitched eyebrows in the short?

I voted yay for voices cuz an 80-minute movie with absolutely no dialouge would have just bugged the crap out of me. I'm really happy that they gave the stitchpunk's voices in the movie.
I liked the movie better than the short because we got to explore more of that 9 world that Shane Acker laid out for us in the short. Though 80 minutes isn't very long (and it would have been totally a lot better if it were longer XD) that's still a LOT of extra footage that we got. We got to explore the character's personalities and traits and such a lot more and I just thought that overall the feature film was better than the short and I'm glad that they made it. ^^

The movie would not have been the same for me without the sexy tones of Christopher Plummer. To be honest I thought the movie was better than the short.

To be honest, it's like comparing apples to oranges. The film and short exist on totally different modes, and I'm okay with that.

Agree'd A half hour of no talking would drive me nuts! I would start dubbing the silence! I think the short was perfect to not have voices! but the actual movie to not have voices? Thats insane. I would do the same.

well, the shortfilm was great, even without the voices, even so they really got their point across and you could just feel the energy in the actions and motions of the characters. that would be like those black and white movies with them talking and then a black screen popping up and telling them what they say...that wouldnt be very good for the movie i dont think...

I would prefer to have voices in the Short. But, you gots to understand, Shane Acker didn't have anyone to do their voices, so he just made them all mute. In the movie, now, if they all were mute, then the uniqueness of the twins not having voces would have been a bummer. All of them not having voices would have been junk. Plus, Elijah Wood is one of my favorite voice people, (and Ben Stiller, but he don't gots anoything to do wif dis XP) mostly because he played *9* ( )and Mumble in Happy Feet. They could have done sign language (yeah right!!!! XD) because I know sign language; that wouldnt have made a difference to me. I enjoyed watching the short, and I am buying the DVD when it comes out. I wonder if they're gonna make a seaquel..

Something i've been thinking about...
the facial features differ from the short vs. in the movie. in the short, the way they open their mouths so wide, it kind of scares me. it kind of portrays more emotion, more hopelessness and turmoil. i actually feel scared/disturbance during the short film, because of this. xD
in the movie, their faces/mouths are more.. subtle, more smooth. more natural, i guess. i'm glad, though xD
short vs. movie; they both have a mind of their own, they each have their own universe. both are beautiful, both are excellent<3.

YEAAAH! I dont know.. it's.. their faces kind of stick in your mind, and leave this weird feeling in your stomach.
I'm glad you noticed this too xD It's kind of hard to notice at first.
I'd be so scared if I saw someone in real life with faces like theirs, though ><

Well personally I think having voices excpet for 3 and 4 worked for the movie and having no voices worked with the short film. To me silence works best if you know how to make the charatcer say a lot through thier actions, but without actual words. But I guess for longer movies some voices might be needed. I think being mute works really well with the Twins, and like other people had said, the Twins muetness wouldn't have been as great if everyone else was mute.
But I guess it's judgement call thing, there are time silent can work, like the scene where 9 releases the souls of the other stitchpunks. I think having no words worked really well with that scene. But of course there are time when words needed, I mean heck if all the stitchpunks in the movie were silent we would probably have a harder time figuring out what's going on.
