I haven't been able to really spot it, but apparently there's a lot of symbolism about humanity, the only one I was able to pick up was "hope" at the end. What're your thoughts?

Hmm...I'd say that the Catbeast pursuing 9 is like evil pursuing the innocence of humanity, I suppose.

ya know, I wonder what the talisman means in the short, hmm... I'm going to probably watch it (the short) again tomorrow or so.

The Talisman is a tool that can suck the life out of a stitchpunk, but it also seems to be a vessel for preserving them, kinda like the Ark of the Covenant (In 'Raiders' and the Old Testament).
It's not like a God (which we assume posseses intelligence) so much as a blind force of nature-it 'giveths and takeths away' blindly, it's up to who's in charge of it wether it's for good or bad.

Like how they say "power can be good or bad depending on how you use it" - same principle applies to the Source Talisman!
