Sounds like 9 is gonna be one of those "love it or hate it" films. Yahoo had it right when they said it's the next cult classic. That actually sounds very accurate. There have been plenty of movies I loved that didn't garner loads and loads of praise. But considering this film is Shane Acker's first big feature, you gotta give him props for that. He just had the rotten luck of opening around the same time as Inglorious Basterds. Not to mention, were today's audience slightly less desensitized by BIG EXPLOSIONS! SEX! BETRAYAL! GIRLS! OMGWE'REALLGONNADIE!!! films, it could have stood a better chance as well. Either way, I adore this film! If I were a director, I'd rather having a particular fanbase that appreciated my work more than anything rather than being huge and mainstream. Those kinds of films are usually dumbed down severely. Sex explosions and girls? You just described the transformers franchise since Michael bay got his grubby little hands on it. Anyways, Rotten tomatoes is honestly not accurate i think. I prefer looking at a single reviewer, Ebert liked it alot because the guy knows his stuff about movies. I think half these peoples are hacks. A review from Belief.com or something said. "it had a controversial strong woman character in it." I mean...seriously? that's who we get ot review movies? Stick to your own opinions.

I think it's because they are all alittle dissapointed, not saying I didn't like 9 (trust me I LOVE LOVE LOVE 9), but it could of definatley been better, but I think RT is being alittle mean, I don't 9 deserves that 56% I think it deserves a 70%, I mean, 9 is such a great film (but the short is aot better)
