First of all, sorry for reviving a seemingly dead post, but I think this is a better place than in the 6 thread (where I originally was gonna put this then I remembered this thread).
Second of all, I just watched Back to the Future for the first time last night (more like this morning); Holy. Freaking. Cow. I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I'd had this image in my mind that it was just some Disney-like kiddie movie but oh no. Not even. I've always been a fan of Christopher Lloyd ("Whhhhaaat...dooooeees....theee.....yeeeelllloooow.....liiiiigggghhhht....meeeeaaann??" If you don't get that shame on you!), and I remember seeing just the one scene when Marty goes back to the future in my childhood, but I've never seen the whole movie until now. Oh my word, Crispin Glover blew my socks off. Clean off my feet. I nearly died laughing when I first saw him in all his dorky glory. It was way too cute for words.
The first time I ever encountered Crispin was when I was younger watching Charlie's Angels. I remember (even as a child) thinking "oooh... he's cute" (but I didn't say so because my sisters thought he was creepy). Then again with Full Throttle. After that, I never saw him again until last Halloween; I spent a lot of time in my dorm room, watching tv, and I saw that Willard was on and I remembered wanting to see it (I liked rats) but never did, so I decided to watch it. That's when my absolute adoration for this man began. To this day I still laugh my head off when I watch him in the beginning scenes after he first sees the rats in the basement and then it goes to him just staring at all the rat products in the supermarket.
I am so incredibly impressed with his accomplishments. He's not just another Hollywood actor; he writes, directs, sings, and so on. I simply LOVE Clowny Clown Clown (it puts a smile on my face every time I hear it). He seems to be a very down to earth, generous person (and when it comes to celebrities, that's a rare trait).
His acting is amazing. It really is top notch. I can see that he just immerses himself into every role, making it his own, every time. He can play so many different roles (from a martial arts assasin to a meek, timid, and seriously disturbed young man). One thing I love most about his acting is he is not afraid about what people might think of him (for example: the snotty cry in the funeral home from Willard). I can always tell when an actor/actress is more concerned with how they look, and it really shows when they act, but Crispin isn't afraid of looking ridiculous, or being percieved as a nut job, he just absorbs his character and becomes that character so that everything he does works for the character, even if it looks stupid (am I making sense?). I really look forward to his interpretation of 6. I know he'll do a fanfreakintastic job, whatever direction he takes it in. And I can't wait for Alice in Wonderland.
When I heard him laugh in Back to the Future, I got the sudden mental image of 6 having this high pitched, nervous voice, then suddenly breaking into this ridiculously dorky laugh similar to George's "Ah ha ah ah ah ah ah!" souding laugh... -I also got the mental image of him screaming Creepy Thin Man style during some psychotic outburst.
There was something that bothered me about the movie; I thought Marty needed Plutonium to get back to the future?
And one last note: is anyone else as outrageously in love with Crispin's eyes as I am? They are such a gorgeous blue with those amazing eyelashes surrounding them (if you've never noticed them before you will now!). And they are SO expressive.
Eh heh... sorry for the ridiculously long post...

There was something that bothered me about the movie; I thought Marty needed Plutonium to get back to the future? Erm... *goes off topic for a second* The plutonium is what generates the 1.21 jiggowats needed to travel through time. Because he didn't have any plutonium, using the 1.21 jiggowats found in a bolt of lightning was their only option to go back in time. It's the only other place one can find such energy.
Sorry, I'm a HUGE Back to the Future nerd. Now allow me to leave you with this..."Hey you! Get your damn hands off her..........You really think I ought a swear?" ;D

^ That wasn't Crispin, it was like a parody of the two guys. A parody that I love so xD
I wrote a letter to his publishing company Volcanic Eruptions and got something back, I'll post it later. It's cool.
edit: DDD: Scanners are broken so I dunno how much later "later" means.

Willard's one of my favorite films (it works especially well on a double bill with Lucky McKee's very similar May. And by "works especially well", I mean "is achingly, achingly depressing"). I've never been able to work out why it tanked so badly; it's one of the very, very small handful of remakes that have actual heart, soul and artistic worth. Actually, maybe that's why. Personally, I've always been more disturbed by the fact that George and Lorraine end up hiring the guy who tried to brutally rape Lorraine thirty years ago to wash and wax their car. Forgiving bunch, the McFlys.

Oh my word, Crispin Glover blew my socks off. Clean off my feet. I nearly died laughing when I first saw him in all his dorky glory. It was way too cute for words. Whoah Kamalyn. ME. TOO. I just watched this movie for the first time somewhat recently, and absolutely fell in love with it. Couldn't stop watching it for a good two weeks. Crispin definitely makes the movie amazing...in fact, he's the reason I like it so much. He played his role so well, y'know? He totally nailed that dorky-ness in such a charming and endearing way. In a way it's also nice how you can see through the character he plays that his spazziness is really just one side of him...every now and then you can see something else peek through George that makes you see him a different light for a moment. Sort of hard to explain, but I'm tellin' ya, Crispin did it well. I'll have to admit that I haven't really seen him anywhere else as far as movies go (though I really /should/ sometime soon). But I'll have to agree with you: he's really cute. I almost can't get over it. XD And one last note: is anyone else as outrageously in love with Crispin's eyes as I am? They are such a gorgeous blue with those amazing eyelashes surrounding them (if you've never noticed them before you will now!). And they are SO expressive. Yep, yep. I especially noticed them during that scene in Back to the Future where he walks up to Lorraine with intentions of asking her to the dance. While he's talking, they seem to sparkle. He does have very enchanting eyes. No one could pull off 6 better than him, I now have no doubt.

No kidding. I imagine 6 being almost exactly like nervous, fidgety, dorky George McFly. ;D

I can see 6 being far more childish than George... The main thing that I want to carry over is George's nervous personality.
