Whoa.... 5's voice!
I love it! It matches 9's younger voice.
I'm starting to believe that "Something terrible" line is John C. Reilly now.

I guess I'm the only one who pictures 5 to be rather bitter and cynical? I don't know why, but my mind interprets him as a crusty and sarcastic fellow. (An old sea captain! Ha haa... ha...) Someone who would always point out the myriad reasons why a plan will end in horrible death. Someone who initially looked at 9 and saw a dead weight and a menace. Of course, I also picture 9 winning him over and turning him into a loyal friend. You know, adding a little hope to his bitter personality. "Can I ask you a question, 5?" "I suppose asking you to hold it in would be asking too much." "How did you lose your eye?" "... You know what, hold it in." I actually really likr your theory. I never imagined him that way before....but I like it. It's just....I don't know....I just like it a lot. Your little skit with 9 and 5 made my day. I laughed so hard. *Smiles*

Heh! Interesting. I guess before I hadn't really heard enough of John's voice to judge whether or not he'd be good as 5...but I'm glad this was put up. ^^ ...And...am I seriously the only one who thinks that the "something terrible" line sounds perfectly like Elijah, and not John? I mean, for me, I'm pretty sure it was him. Just in a deeper voice than usual, perhaps.

I'm with frozen. I think it sounds like Elijah but in a more somber tone. Though listening to Reilly, I'm starting to think it could be him as well O.o It's just one of those things I guess.

You're right baout the " Something terrible..." line not being 5. It doesn't sound like him. I thought maybe sense in the clip that 9's voice seemed like it was too high. (At least not an adolescent frog high...juts higer then the something terrible line.)

Say what you like!! You'll never convince me that it's Elijah until I see the movie. (watch me end up being wrong again)

Thats maybe because of his lost eye. And 5 looks like he believs only in what he see. I imagine him go all the time (while repairing something):"Oh, what we have, bunch of kids, joking and having a good time while they have to seek for a cover." And I like his voice, though I expected a bit lower one.

I like to think of 5 as a kind of old mentor for 9. but on the subject of lost limbs, 5 loses his arm in the short right before he gets kill by the......thing.

I wonder if they'll still treat 5 as 9's mentor? AAH! The lost arm! (cries) I hope that particular injury doesn't repeat itself in the film. In fact, it appears to have been passed on to 9 instead...

Question to all of you who watch the trailer obsessively (I KNOW YOU DO DON'T LIE): On a different thread I read that there's a shot where 5 has both eyes. Now, I keep missing it when I see the trailer somehow, so could someone point me in the right direction here? thanks!

Besides, at 1:08 you can see that 5's eye is already lost - you can see electric contacts, sparkling.
