All I can say is, that scene is going to be absolutely horrific... just look at the way 9 is watching, confused and scared, helplessly collapsed onto the floor behind 2...

*pulls out her double-barrel Shot gun* I'll be firing THE LAZER! *holds up a flimsy shield* Heheh...sorry... Back on topic, though, really, what's up with them showing all of these death scenes? They should really hold back or something...

They're probably trying to show people who are unfamiliar with the film and can't tell the characters apart that "Hey, we're animated, but we're not child-friendly." If they can't tell them apart, what's to spoil?

but what about all the trolls sneaking around here that know we're really really obsessed ad can tell the difference between all the characters? or are they punishing us for that?

I'm not sure what to say about that... Perhaps there will be a plot twist, who knows what, that will make the deaths irrelevant? Not irrelevant in the sense that no one will care that the characters die, but irrelevant in the sense that they may be brought back...

ya......but it's all confusing.....
Shane Acker should know that people would be able to tell who's who.....does that mean he doesn't care that he's giving us these spoilers, or he doesn't understand that he does? and why does he keep giving us clips? (not that i'm complaining...)
it's very unusual for a movie like this....usually they keep it under lock and key...

I still think it's to show that this movie has an edge.

Shane is being a very confusing person......hopefully the Comic con will help clear up some of it...

This seems to be a thing with Focus Features. There was A LOT of Coraline footage out before the movie. A lot of the dark changes that occur through the film were shown, and the other mother's true form was paraded around like a supermodel in a mink coat.

Well, if it's a Focus thing, I wouldn't necessarily put all the blame on Shane...

Most of the time it's the studio that makes the trailer that decides what we get to see and what we don't get to see.

This is recklessness. They ALL should be careful when it comes to promotion.
Well, this IS an independent making. Focus is probably trying to garner enough profit by unleashing all this new material..........two months in advance.

It could just be... "Well, everyone died in the short, so people won't be shocked if they see death in the trailors anyway.". Either that, or people being killed is not the most important events of the story? Who knows...
