I remember on the commentary Shane joked about a PREQUEL. But a sequel IDK kinda would be funny if he had a contest and put fan OCs in it. I'm just thinking of a title? 92, 9 squared?

I keep hearing rumors about them discussing RAGDOLL REPRODUCTION!! *fistpunch* I can't wait to see how Shane deals with that topic. XD It sounds like a 9 sequel is very likely at this point, and the ideas he has for it sound really awesome! About Shane killing off one of the twins, that was ACTUALLY the VERY FIRST 9-related dream I had. He was planning on doing it in the movie, but served to be too dramatic? XD Maybe in the sequel?

Zen mommy would not approve D:
I think Shane would probably have them build other stitchpunks, if anything... XD

That would be cool if that would have happen. Shane picks who has the best and creative OCs and put them in the next film. XD But then again, he probably had drawn other characters and never bothered to use them.

I really wouldn't want new stitchpunk characters in a sequel (unless it involves 7 and 9 making babies *wink wink*). If anything, just keep 7, 9 and the twins alive (maybe adding new monsters or living creatures, idk) OR bring some of the old characters back via flashbacks (I highly doubt they'd RESURRECT them, that'd be weird, and defeat the purpose of 9 RELEASING THEIR SOULS).

At this point in the game let it be a sequel or prequel I just want another 9 movie. I just want to point that out before making any comments.
With a prequel I agree it would be a little hard fining a nice firm story line to make it pleasing to others. Fan of 9 my be happy but critics, not so much. It be nice to see how 2 left. There are so many variations of that; I’m shore we would all like a strait answer on that.
Now will all the comments and multiple mentionings of a sequel in Actner's reviews and commentary I'm feeling pretty confident now. Being a new director who was just pulled up from a short film he made a while ago me worried if he would stay or not. Lucky he's looking good and I'm willing to believe he has something for another 9 movie. If not he’s still got something in store. I do hope -[and everyone's pretty shore on this]- that if there be a sequel, they find someway to bring the characters back into the story some how. I know I would feel most empty with out 2 or 6 there. I wish I could suggest some ideas but at this point nothing is coming up.
But the title seems to be the real challenge now though doesn't it? X3

I think the only viable way to bring the old characters back in the sequel is through flashbacks (which seems like a pretty good idea to me). If they were to bring them back to life.... no, just no. Besides, most of their bodies were lost in the battlefield, I wouldn't want to resurrect them.

[$0.02]Well, accord to 1, "the gas killed everything"-as far as he could see in his cozy sanctuary. So maybe if they traveled beyond the city (from looking at 5's map, would be a huge undertaking-their perception of distance is quite primitive), they could encounter other organisms, possibly humans (assumedly underground). If they could find some old colleagues of the Scientist, .....mmmmaaaybee they could 'procreate', using the journals from the 'first room'. [/$0.02]

I don't know how much I want to see a sequel. I mean, coming from Shane it can't suck too badly (I hope O.O) but still...they'd have to think of an awesome plot. Because if they just had the machines take over again, it'd be something like this:
The stitchpunks are starting to relax with a new, less-hectic life when all of a sudden, a new and improved machine comes along. They all go screaming "Oh crap" for a while, then somehow they defeat it.
It doesn't really matter how they defeat it, but if they brought back the machines, it'd basically be the same movie, just with 5 of the ragdolls gone. I don't know if everyone agrees with this, but I'd personally want to see the stitchpunks be resurrected than see that. Although the ideas for both make me get twitchy.
I like the idea of a different gang of stitchpunks, though, but I'm not sure how they'd get it all to work out. But like anything, it's always possible. I mean, 9 had so much potential, but it had a few flaws, and a sequel is giving Shane the chance to improve. Even a prequel would. We're just going to have to find out what Mr. Acker decides to do. =)

if there is a sequel I'd like to see it be all happy and safe, and they get lazy with their fighting skills and such and they some how bring back the dead ones, and then closer to the end there is sudenly a machine of some kind and they aren't prepared for it

It would be nice to see a prequel too though, anything that gives them more screentime is good! Especially 6 and 2, they needed more lines!

^ Agreeing with Sparrow.
I think I'd actually prefer a prequel over a sequel. At this point, a prequel seems more logical and possible. A full length one? Not so much. I can see a 30-min short or so being released straight to DVD though

Honestly, though I don't know HOW they'd make a sequal, I would actually prefer a sequal rather than a prequal, just because I really would want 9 in it.... I keep changing my opinion on the issue though, so a week later, I'll probably be like "HEY A PREQUAL DOES SOUND GOOD IF _______ HAPPENED" or something like that, but for the time being, I'd prefer a sequal.
