PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT ANNA I WANT TO READ THIS NOW. Though I know it would probably be a lot more serious and dramatic and less lulzy, but that's a very good thing in my mind. 83

^ I like that pairing. when I was first into 9 it was the only pairing I liked. All the other [airing made me cringe. I guess because it was canon. I even used to hate 1x7 which is now my OTP. strange how time can change you.

Yeah I like 9x7 as well. But I also admit I did kind of like 2x5 ever since I first saw the movie. Same for 9x7. Then I got into 5x7. For a while those were the only three pairs I liked, but I eventually started to become more open to giving some of the other pairings out there a chance.
Though when it comes to my OTPs, I find I can be satisfied with the movie canon if I think of it as 9 and 7 together, 2 and 5 are happy together in Stitchpunk Heaven. Yeah I know I have a weird mind.
But I'll admit when it comes to 9x7 and 2x5, for some odd reason I picture 1 being all "Get a room!" to them. XD

I never really got into the 9/7 craze myself. I mean, it's cute, but the predictability sort of bored me. It's like IT'S A PRETTY GIRL FOR THE MAIN CHARACTER YAY. >> Then again, I don't hate it. And yes, the first pairing I noticed was 2/5. xD But I'll admit when it comes to 9x7 and 2x5, for some odd reason I picture 1 being all "Get a room!" to them. XD ^ THIS. xD It's just so funny. 1's forever alooooonneee~

^ But only some of the time! The rest of it he spends paired up.
I ship 7 with quite a few people...1, 5, 6, 8, and 9. Twinx7 is starting to grow on me, but not to the point where I can list it as one of my pairings. Yet.
I agree that 9/7 is pretty cliche as far as movies go, but for me that's almost completely negated by all the fun things one can do with them. Their different personalities, the fact that, at least for all they know, they're two of only four living things left on the entire planet, what brief history they have together...all this makes for some very interesting thoughts and plot bunnies and stories and the like.

^ but wouldn't it be funny if they got to know each other really well and found out they're NOT compatible with each other at all?
I think 2x5 is starting to grow on me and I'm not much of a slash fan. XD Then again I probably think of it as a father/son family relationship.

^ Awww. Well I do think it possible for 9x7 to work out, but I know it would depend on how it written though. But anyway I still see 9x7 as kind of cute. To be honest I can picture 7 finding 9 kind of adorkable. I don't know why, but some reason I imagine she might have found his flirt fail to be kind of cute. XD And yes I'do find it funny how when he meet 7, 9's all like "Durr, she pretty". XD But I'll admit I do kind of like how he's not afraid to disagree even though he crushing on her. Oh an thing I think I do like about them is there's both capabale of saving each others butts, Instead of the whole Partner A always hads to rescue Partner B thing.

I admit, I used to ONLY ship 9x7 as a 7 pairing for the longest time. I don't know why, I just... I guess because it was canon and I usually ship canon pairings for females only.
But then the wonders of 1x7 came into the forefront. And then 8x7. And 5x7 (OH JEEZES THIS PAIRING I LOVE IT). And then even 6x7 and... well, I ship all the 7 pairings now! But my top three are 9x7, 5x7, and 1x7, with 8x7 following closely behind. 83
On the topic of 9x7 though, I see it somewhere along the lines of 7 thinking "you are the biggest possible dork that could have been left on the planet... and I love you for it." I don't see it being super sweet and cuddly, more of them having their moments in private, while around others they balance each other out. 9 being more optimistic and 7 being more cautious, and at times given situations the roles reversed, and the two playing off their differences and faults.
I always liked this pairing, and I will always stand by it, no matter how cliche it can be in some ways. It's cute and it's strong to me.

OH ARE WE TALKING ABOUT 9X7 AGAIN? ALLOW ME. :D And that about sums it up. XD For those who haven't seen these, they're storyboards from a deleted scene, in which they're all trying to move an oil barrel onto those tracks. The beam that was supposed to catch the barrel breaks and everyone thinks 9 and 5 have been crushed, but of course they save themselves in the nick of time. And 7 is impressed with 9's moxie. XD Now, I know deleted scenes aren't canon, but I still can't help but love this. I MEAN LOOK AT PANELS 45 AND 46 COULD YOU DIE OR WHAT? Also 1 in that last panel I can't even. XDDD

Red, those are ADORABLE! I can't believe I've never seen that scene before O.o Or picked up on it. I have a couple of ships in this fandom but only two OTPs, and 9x7 is one of them. It took me a while to pinpoint exactly why I like them so much, but I think it has more to do with 7's personality and how she would function with a mate. She's stubborn, independent, free-spirited and has proven that she can survive quite happily on her own. So if she was to take a mate, she would need someone who would ground her, but not anchor her. 9's exactly that character. He takes those precious few moments to figure out plans and be inventive before taking action, whereas 7 acts on instinct and rushes into things without thinking. But they're both stitchies of action, so having 9 around wouldn't so much weigh 7 down as offer her the logic she needs. Like Bane said, they balance each other out Plus 9 really reminds me of the awkward clumsy guy with a crush on the coolest girl in school. There is so much d'awww there. As much as I find 5x7 absolutely fluffalicious, I do feel like 5 is more of an anchor than a ground. He wouldn't be the kind to go off on a wild adventure with 7 and for a while he does let his fear and intimidation (of 1 and of the world outside the chapel) override everything. Including, I'm assuming, following 7 when she and the twins escaped from 1's reign. It's obvious he missed her, maybe even gave up on seeing her again, but for whatever reason he never went with her. He does have that redeeming moment towards the end when he actually fights with 1, but it's too little too late by that point. 7 would need someone a bit more proactive. I do find them fluffy as heck though ;D They could have had their moments in the past, or an unrequited crush on 5's part. Also, 1's face in the last panel = "Why does 9 get all the stitches? Hrmph."

^ Oho, I think you hit the nail on the head there. Poor 1. If it's any consolation, sir grump, you're tied with 7 for second place on my shipping list! Five ships for each of you. XDD I also agree enthusiastically with the rest of your post, though I hadn't thought about it in that manner when it comes to 5, and would like to add that, as good as 9 could be for 7, she could also have quite the positive influence on him. I imagine she'd be good at getting him to stop brooding and planning and just do something already. Preferably on instinct. Which would work, of course. So it's nice for both of them! Also, wow, we are going really quickly through this page -- I wonder why that is?

JJ. ALL THE APPLAUSE. YOU DESERVE IT. Not only for the 9x7, but that hilarious image of 1 you conjured up in my head. XD The same reason I like 9x7, the fact they balance each other in some way, is what I like about ALL of my top ships. They usually always have offsetting traits that don't normally mesh well together, but manage to work in an interesting way, for example I see 7 as more of a realistic thinker, trusting logic, while 9 is more of a dreamer, trying to look for new and possibly creative ways to do something. They both clash, but in the end they can work together in a way that could combine both of those strengths. For other pairings, I like the exact OPPOSITE. But I will get to that when we get to that.

JJ, you get an exalt! Better put then I could have ever written it. XD I love how 9 and 7 play well off each other, and it makes for some very interesting fan theories. <3 Add in twin/parenting cuteness, and we have a winner! And that storyboard is lolz. Both 5 and 9 are like: "DUR SHE LIKES US", with 1 scowling in the background. Gotta' love it.
