If I know Tim, 2 is going to be the lovable brother figure of the group and everyone in the audience is going to love him, and then BOOM! tragic end. I just know it.
Also, is it me, or does 1's reaction to the DFM more of a sad, disbelieving "no, it CAN'T be!", like 2 was dead and 1 had mourned, and now it looked like he'd come back? maybe that's why 1 hadn't moved.

That's a good point. He had to have reacted like that if that were the case, right? The Scrooge meeting Marley's ghost.

I REALLY think that 1 and 2 were brothers, CLOSE brothers. Maybe 1 took his death the hardest out of the group, but had to put on a brave face in front of the others. Then when confronted with the corpse of his beloved sibling, he cracked and couldn't bring himself to leave?

I think the sight of a fellow human being used in such a way would freak me out whether or not I was close to them.

I always thought that when 1 saw 2 in that clip...
He was afraid. He thought 2 was dead... and now he's back. He wasn't sure what 2 was going to do, but he knew a machine overtook him. He wanted to run, but couldn't, and then bang...
Bye-bye 1. Well, he didn't die, but.... yeahhhh
*goes to recharge brain*

I must be the odd one out, my interpretations are always vastly different from everyone else's... Because it sounded to me like 1 had a bit of a guilty conscience... as though he was responsible for 2's death, or blamed himself for what happened. And when 2's body came into view, the first thing he thought was that, somehow, he was back for revenge. "No, it can't be... no... No!" ... I must be very strange.

Yeah, I think 1 may have been afraid to think 2 might have come back, only perhaps because of raised hopes, yet seeing him...different? I don't know.
I have one hope for 2 that I wish to be thoroughly accomplished; that is having him be a beloved character through the perception of the audience, one they get a chance to like quite a bit. If that is not established, I just know I'm going to have several times more difficulty accepting his death and containing myself.
Ah, but it is after all only a hope. ;.;

I see 2 as shy young inventor with having teen voice, stuttering a little. I find Landau too old for this character. ANd what do you think about Martin Landau doing the voice of 2?

I pictured him young at first as well, but the concept of him being older kinda grew on me... and now I like that as opposed to 2 being a teenager.
If he's older, he's wiser with more experience, and most likely, more open-minded with the inventive mind that he has. If he was a teenager, he'd be blowing up everything he'd try to make and be more of a mess-up than an inventor...
I don't know... those are kind of my guesses/observations/theories.

With Martin Landau doing the voice of 2, I really, really doubt that 2 is going to be a teenager.... He's most likely going to end up being an old guy like 1. But a teenage 2 does sound like a rather interesting idea.

i kinda tought of that too, but it like the idea more of their numbers kinda showing their age, i mean 2 reminds me of the Gran-pa that u just love to death, hes always smiling, he'd do those coin magic tricks, makes u little wood trains. y'know? a sweet and caring old man *nods* I can't wait to see how Martin plays 2 =^//////^=

Not sure about the 'teenager' bit. Wikipedia describes 2 as "an aged inventor"-- but then again, Wikipedia doesn't know everything. ... Never heard Martin Landau, actually...

he has an old, cute voice C: Ive watched him in interviews. Seems kind of a deep voice for how I pictured 2 to sound like before I looked him up but Im sure itll be cute.
